| Gloria Killian was studying to become a lawyer when she was arrested and tried for masterminding a robbery-homicide and, based on the testimony of a career criminal, sentenced to prison. Now, 16 years later, with the help of Joyce Ride, mother of astronaut Sally Ride, her conviction has been set aside. Killian has since started a non-profit organization dedicated to helping other women who may be victims of injustice. Also, a report on Clarence Elkins, an Akron, Ohio man, who claims he is innocent, is in prison for the murder of his mother-in-law, 58-year-old Judith Johnson. With no physical evidence, Elkins? conviction was based on the testimony of his 6-year-old niece who was herself attacked by the assailant. Five years later, the child has recanted her original testimony. She now says that the killer was not her uncle Clarence but someone who resembled him. The Elkins family is going back to court in the hope of freeing Clarence and bringing the real killer to justice. | |
