WE Volunteer - Mission
WE Volunteer is WE Empowers Women’s three-year campaign (2009-2011) dedicated to empowering women and the people in their lives to volunteer for a one day (24 hours) to causes and organizations that they are passionate about. The campaign makes it simple and easy for you to learn how to volunteer in your community by quickly connecting to local organizations that you feel passionate about.
Our motto is simple- "What a Difference a Day Makes"
We provide you with a "one stop tool" that allows you to choose a project or cause and take action in no time! WE Volunteer encourages you to register for an actual volunteer experience and then have you come back to track your volunteer hours. Following your volunteer experience, we hope that you share your own personal story of volunteerism in the hopes of getting other women involved.
WE Empowers Women
WE Empowers Women, WE tv’s nationwide public affairs initiative was created in 2005. The initiative is dedicated to empowering women to lead fulfilling lives and to achieve their full potential. Past WE Empowers Women activities included partnerships with National non-profit organizations such as the Women’s Sports Foundation, American Heart Association, and Girls Inc. Most recently, WE Empowers Women garnered great attention and support for the initiative’s, WE Vote 08 campaign, dedicated to getting women registered to vote, educating them on key issues of importance, and galvanizing them to the polls this past November to make their voices heard. The campaign had a dedicated website, WEVote08.com, a PSA campaign that featured well-known celebrities including Kelly Ripa, Kerry Washington and LeAnn Rimes, and hosted several local in-market voter registration drives in partnership with cable operators. The campaign was a great success!
WE Volunteer is WE Empower's Women newly launched three-year campaign dedicated to celebrating the power of volunteerism.
