My name is Jennifer and I’m 27 years old. I live in New York City and I work as a Human Resources Generalist at an online video advertising network. I met my fiancé Adam in 2007 on the premier online Jewish dating website JDate. Adam and I got engaged on July 17th at The Blue Water Grill in New York City after he took me on a wild re-wind of our first date together.
Our wedding is on September 17, 2011 at the Pleasantdale Château in West Orange, NJ. My sister had been married there in 2007 and ever since then, I knew that the Pleasantdale would be the perfect venue for Adam and I to be married at.
During my dress shopping expedition, I looked to my parents, Kathi and Ken, for help during this fun but somewhat stressful time. Having done this once already with my sister, my parents both played an integral part in helping me to evaluate every dress that I tried on. My mom knows what looks best on me and my body type so she and I sync very well. She’s got a great eye for fashion and I can always count on her to tell me her true opinion about anything! My dad, on the other hand, was very interested in the details of the dresses – fabric, fit, how the bustle looked when it was done. It was great having a dad who was so interested in being involved in my dress search. I’m extremely lucky to have been able to have both my parents join me on this amazing journey. No one else knows me like they do and their opinion meant a lot to me.
When I first started my search (which by the way began well before I was engaged!) I had made a list of various designers and stores that I knew I wanted to explore. I thought I knew exactly what I was looking for in my head, but finding it was becoming quite a challenge. Prior to my appointment at Amsale, I must have tried on at least 30 different dresses from 8 different stores. Amsale was always on my list of places to visit during my search as I’ve always been a huge fan of their designs. When I first came to the Amsale Flagship store in New York I remember walking in thinking, “I’m going to find my dress today.” While waiting for my appointment to start, my mom and I browsed through the racks from the three different Amsale collections – Amsale, Christos and Kenneth Pool. We had already eyed a number of dresses that appealed to us and couldn’t wait to get started!
My bridal consultant, Linda, was incredible. We instantly clicked and Linda knew exactly what I was looking for based on my small wish-list and wedding vision. Each dress that I tried on was more beautiful than the next, but none of them felt like “the one.” That is, until I tried on Analisa. From Amsale’s Blue Label, Analisa is a strapless, silk taffeta gown with ruched dropped waist bodice and full skirt adorned with flowers. Simply perfect. When I put it on, I knew that this was the dress that I would be walking down the aisle in. Even now just looking at it in pictures I still get goose bumps. It’s the most gorgeous dress I’ve ever seen.
After finding my wedding gown, I knew selecting the perfect bridesmaids dresses would be a breeze! I ended up picking out a variety of dresses by Amsale in Charcoal Chiffon from Bella Bridesmaid in New York City. The bridesmaids dresses match so well with the look and feel of my dress and I can’t wait to see everyone in them on the big day!
My family and I are so grateful for the opportunity to have this once in a life-time event captured. It is something we will always remember. Thank you, Linda and the entire Amsale staff for an unforgettable experience!
