Set out the welcome wagon, bring out the fizzy stuff, a big star is about to enter your world – or, rather a big planet. On January 5^th, Jupiter returns to your sign for a year's stay during which you should see your life expand on more than one front. Success, good fortune and happiness are this planet's gifts, although there will be an equally strong trend for inflation and unwanted gains (chocolate is a treat not a medicine!). In late May, early July and mid-December Jupiter will form a conjunction with mystical Neptune making a dream come true or shattering your illusions. On October 27th Saturn will enter your fellow air sign, Libra, encouraging long-term growth and helping you establish yourself. All these positive influences, however, have to be seen in the context of a difficult year for the planet as a whole, so your biggest plus could be a buffering effect – even the most trying experience will have a silver lining.

LOVE

You could be struck by the thunderbolt of love. Eclipses are like that: they bring people into your life who are catalysts of great change, and sometimes you get to marry them! The Aquarian heart is a tender thing and you hide your vulnerability behind a veneer of charming indifference but that doesn't mean you don't yearn for romance, and with this year's divine influences aiming themselves at your heart, it will be opened to love. Neptune's presence in your sign has meant you have met with some disappointments in recent years, and this trend has not entirely disappeared, but you'll gain more than you lose from those you love this year, and if a relationship must end, don't be surprised if another begins very shortly thereafter. August and September are key months for love.

Half the battle with finding success is believing you can do it, and this is certainly where Jupiter comes in: mind over matter, self-belief and faith all have a part to play in 2009's achievements. Do not undersell yourself: seek promotion or a better job and even if you don't get an immediate result, in the future good things will come out of interviews and your efforts to succeed. Getting money owed to you or dealing with financial institutions could be hard going until the fall but from then on such things will get easier. A big healing process is taking place too, whether this manifests in your overcoming a health problem or your being able to come to terms with painful experiences in the past, and some Aquarians may channel their energies into alternative therapies. All in all a year in which you'll make big strides – literally and figuratively.
