Television makes two
exciting announcements, some celebrities are left shaken, and Gwen Stefani
finally pops!
Happy Feet!
Dancing
With the Stars finally announced the complete cast of the upcoming
seventh season today on ABC's
Good Morning America. The cast will include:
The new season premieres September 22.
A Stork Visit
Singer Gwen Stefani and rocker hubby, Gavin Rossdale,
welcomed their second son, Zuma
Nesta Rock Rossdale, on Thursday, August 21, in L.A.'s
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
The 38-year-old mom's 8 lbs. 5 oz little one will undoubtedly follow in the
footsteps of his über-cool older brother, Kingston, who turned 2 in May. Name
experts have conjured several interesting theories to dissect the tykes'
unique tags, but the most logical of the batch links the names to reggae
pioneer, Bob Marley. While "Nesta" was Jamaican the singer's given first name,
"Kingston" is the capital of Jamaica. Seems like the Rossdales are paying
tribute to the legendary musician via the names of their kin. Rock on!
Idol Addition
Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson will be
squeezing a fourth chair in at the judges' table. American
Idol's hopeful contestants will now face the critique of the Grammy-nominated
songwriter Kara DioGuardi, in addition to usual spitfire, Cowell. But hey,
chins up! Maybe she'll join the ranks of Randy and Paula, softening Cowell's
harsh blows. DioGuardi has worked with many accomplished artists, including
Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, Faith Hill, and more. The show
premieres its eighth season in January.
Crash Course
Barenaked Ladies frontman, Ed
Robertson, survived a plane crash in southeastern Ontario on Sunday. Robertson, who was
traveling with three passengers, escaped the wreck by climbing through windows.
The group was shaken, but luckily, none were injured. Additionally, vague
reports have surfaced detailing a car crash that the
Beckham family narrowly escaped while in France. (These reports have subsequently
been refuted as untrue.) Unfortunately, actress Helena Bonham Carter
has not been blessed with such luck. The Sweeny
Todd star is mourning the loss several relatives who were killed together
in a bus crash while on safari in South Africa. Many prayers are being sent her
way.
