Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi say "I do,"
John Mayer says too much and Madonna turns 50 in style
Just Married!
According to reports, funny gal, Ellen DeGeneres, tied
the knot with longtime girlfriend, Portia de Rossi, at the couple's Beverly Hills manse this
weekend. De Rossi is said to have worn a light pink Cinderella-esque gown to
the intimate Saturday evening ceremony, while her comedian counterpart stayed
true to her usual style in a white pantsuit. Reports say that the couple made
their 4-year-long relationship official amongst about 20 guests -- including the
company of the duo's two dogs. Congratulations to the happy newlyweds!
Paparazzi Therapy Session
John Mayer seized
the opportunity to clear up rumors trailing his recent breakup with
Jennifer Aniston in NYC's SoHo this weekend
via an impromptu chat with group of photographers. The paps lent their ears to
the chatty crooner, who dished, "I ended a relationship to be alone
because I don't want to waste somebody's time if something's not right."
Mayer described Aniston as "the smartest, most sophisticated person"
he's ever met. Looks like we're on the brink of a new trend: dump and tell.
"Celebrate Good Times, Come On!"
Despite rumors of their marital demise, Madonna stepped out
with hubby, Guy Ritchie, to celebrate her 50th birthday in London's Volstead on
Saturday. But this half-century diva shows no signs of slowing down, preparing
to kick off "Sticky & Sweet," the singer's eighth world tour. So,
no more A-Rod? Well, who really knows, but the two definitely share a passion
for philanthropy. Rush
& Molloy of the New York Daily News report that Alex Rodriguez is
donating $500,000 to the icon's Raising Malawi foundation. Wonder if he'll be
able to be so generous after his divorce from wife, Cynthia Rodriguez.
Phelps Phever
America
can't get enough of Olympic swimmer, Michael
Phelps! The athlete won his eighth gold medal of the 2008 Olympics (his 14th
over all) over the weekend, breaking Mark Spitz's seven gold medals -- a record
set in the 1972 Games! "This is all a dream come true. Doing all best
times. Winning every race. Everything was accomplished that I wanted to do.
It's been one fun week, that's for sure," Phelps has said. According
to USA
Today, American audiences have also noticed the woman in the wings -- the
swimmer's mom, Debbie Phelps, who let the tears flow each time her son stepped
up on the medal podium. The gracious mom has gushed, "There's not one
single word that can express how I feel. I can say proud, I can say honored, I
can say it's a performance you want to see your child achieve."
