I currently live at the farm again with my mom. When I got pregnant, I needed support, and now I need help with the kids! I dropped out of KU during my third year because I wanted to be a yacht stewardess on private yachts and travel the world with a toilet brush in my hand. School wasn't doing it for me; plus, I was a painting major, and you can't really do much with that. I got pregnant a month after I dropped out, so I moved home and now I help my mom run our growing herbal store, Foxfire Herbal, in Louisburg. We sell medicinal herbs, teas and organic produce from our farm in addition to many other items.
Considering I was barely 14 when you met me, all of my goals and aspirations have changed since then. I'm not much of a goal maker in the first place; I just kind of float along with wherever the wind takes me. But then I also think that before I was just focused on getting through school and maybe modeling; I don't even remember now. I'll have to look at the tapes again! Now my whole life is my baby girls and making sure they are happy and healthy and have the best life I can possibly give them. My next goal, I guess, is to get out of my mom's house and go back to being completely self-sufficient. It's a real pride buster to have to move back in with your parents.
I'm still with the tripod. Our group is a little stretched with
Crystle in Hong Kong,
Gina in Lawrence and me being in Louisburg, but we still make it work and are as close as ever. We just don't see each other as often. I talk to
Sara very often on the phone. It used to be a lot more but since the girls came, I don't have much time to just talk. Not to mention what will happen when her babies come. We will get to trade tips though, so that's exciting. Every now and then
Cate and I will chat on Facebook chat; mostly updates on the babies.
The show didn't affect my high school experience. I wasn't even a part of the show officially until probably my junior year when Sharon found out she had a ton of footage of me because of the other girls and decided to make me a full-time girl.
One thing I miss about high school is the chicken nuggets with mashed potatoes and yellow gravy in the cafeteria. I went back a year ago to eat lunch and they had totally changed everything. I was quite upset. I also miss the simplicity of high school. You have to be so responsible in life after high school. Enjoy the time you have there. Relax and have fun, and don't stress about the little stuff. You're young even though you may feel old.
As far as being recognized from the show, I caught people staring at me a couple times. Other people, mostly parents, ask me if I was in High School Confidential. One guy asked me for an autograph. That was kind of cool, though it's also slightly embarrassing because it's like, "Hi stranger, you know me and all my high school problems but I don't even know your name!" Definitely not glamorous. And since I wasn't a main girl on the show, there's a lot that went on in my life that the cameras didn't see. But I don't know if I would change that.
Right now, the most exciting thing going on for me is when the babies sleep longer than three hours or do something new. And again, my future plans are just making sure that the girls are happy and healthy and getting to a point where I don't have to rely on my mom's help.
My twin girls are Charlotte (Charlie) and Evangeline (Evan), and they are the light of my life. They are a handful but definitely worth every second. They're really advanced and smart. They were able to lift their heads at two weeks, and they're already starting to lift their chests, which they aren't supposed to do for another month or so. They're two months old right now. Delivery and pregnancy went great--as great as those experiences with twins can be! No complications, and I didn't have to have a C-section.
My parents divorced when I was eight years old, and then I experienced my Mom and Rick's divorce when I was in high school. At that point I was so tired of the drama that I was just like, finally! It was like closure or something. It's still hard though, and I was worried about my mom. They never actually followed through with the divorce but they remain separated.
As far as my relationship with my stepsister goes, if you watched the show you would know that Cate and I grew apart and never grew back together again. We are civil with each other and understand that we are on the same page.
I'm still close with Crystle, Sara and Gina. We stay in contact and are still good friends. Crystle and I lived together for two years and now Crystle and Gina are going to live together, which I'm really happy about. It's funny because we have now all teamed up to live with one another; first Gina and I (which didn't happen :-( ), then Crystle and I and now Gina and Crystle! As far as Sara goes, we stay in touch. I am too busy and broke to visit her though. But she comes back every now and then and we meet up and hang out.
The update on my pets is that I had rats at one point, and I felt guilty for feeding so many to my snake so I saved two. Now we have six crazy goats and a cow named PJ on the farm on top of our four dogs, chickens and horses.
