tie-dye-152-130.jpgComing to terms with my tie-dye obsession

By Heather Summerville

A few weeks ago Emily Hsieh--the stylish woman behind Lucky's always ahead-of-the-fashion-curve Shop Girl blog--wrote about American Apparel's new tie-dye leggings, which I'd been tempted to buy numerous times, but could never follow through on. My fear was that I'm just not cool enough to pull off such a hippie-gone-rocker look.

photo-via-American-Apparel.jpgWith my long, messy hair and my love of voluminous, drapey clothing, tie-dye might make me seem like I'm having a bad '60s Haight-Ashbury acid trip. And yet I do want tie-dye in my life--it's so pretty, and moody, and current! So I've come to the conclusion that it's much better suited to my apartment. Here, the cute (and affordable!) home accessories that I'm contemplating now.
