I recently spent a week in Barcelona--my first trip there--and totally fell in love with the easy-going, bohemian vibe of the city with its gaggle of scooters, maze of cobblestone streets, and, oh my goodness, the food. What I wasn't expecting, however, was the current wave of sporty-sleek fashions I saw all over the street.

]]> harem pants, the oversized, printed tee was the current hot-ticket item for both sexes, and I'm pretty sure they won't even let you in the city limits without a pair of cool sneakers. Make a statement with a stylish critter or two

I recently came across Jennifer Angus' work at the Newark Museum. Her installation, Insecta Fantasia, is made up of thousands of insects--pink grasshoppers, cicadas, weevils, and more--all pinned in perfect geometric patterns on the walls of two rooms. From far away, it looks like wallpaper that's at once beautiful and eerie. It was a truly fascinating site, especially considering if I'd run into any one of these bugs alive I would've sprinted in the opposite direction.

The Trend I Want to Steal Right Now: Sexy Crochet

Crochet has always appealed to my hippie tendencies: it's romantic, it's crafty, you get the idea. But I've never considered it entirely sexy, until now. Over the past two weeks, I've been spotting crochet-back dresses everywhere--on girls at restaurants, once on the subway, and even on street-style photographer The Cobra Snake's website (see photos below).

]]> With their open, graphic designs and organic-feeling construction, these pieces have that wildly-sexy-without-trying thing going for them. But in all my obsessive searching for look-a-likes, I haven't come across the abundance of options I was expecting. So far I've found this almost-as-seductive tank from the eco-conscious line Covet. And a pretty racerback dress at Urban Outfitters. Any suggestions?

Coming to terms with my tie-dye obsession

A few weeks ago Emily Hsieh--the stylish woman behind Lucky's always ahead-of-the-fashion-curve Shop Girl blog--wrote about American Apparel's new tie-dye leggings, which I'd been tempted to buy numerous times, but could never follow through on. My fear was that I'm just not cool enough to pull off such a hippie-gone-rocker look.

]]> With my long, messy hair and my love of voluminous, drapey clothing, tie-dye might make me seem like I'm having a bad '60s Haight-Ashbury acid trip. And yet I do want tie-dye in my life--it's so pretty, and moody, and current! So I've come to the conclusion that it's much better suited to my apartment. Lucky Girl's Unwavering Product Devotion Continues...

Two weeks ago I told you guys about my go-to shower lineup, and since then I've noticed that I'm just as weirdly loyal to the makeup products I own. When I surveyed my bathroom counter, I realized there are four items in my repertoire that I have used since I was 18! Longevity is the ultimate test of any good beauty product, right? So here they are:

]]> Clé de Peau concealer: It might be on the pricey side, but one tube of this satiny product lasts me six months. Well worth the $70.

Aveda Phomollient: My hair is fine, but I have a lot of it, and this is the only thing I've found that controls frizz while keeping my waves intact--and, most importantly, it doesn't dry all stiff and crunchy.

Prescriptives False Lashes: I have long lashes, but very few of them. This shows off the length while making them appear fuller. Brilliant!

C.O. Bigelow Smith's Rosebud Salve: It moisturizes and adds the perfect natural, pinkish tint.

My Shower Companions Never Change

I'm a creature of habit when it comes to my beauty regimen, a fact my former roommate--the senior beauty editor at Lucky--Cristina Mueller can certainly attest to. Whereas her half of the shower was a constant buffet of the newest shampoos and miracle-promising body scrubs, mine consisted of six products huddled in a corner: Dr. Brandt Poreless Cleanser, GHD Guardian Shampoo, Ojon Conditioner, Molten Brown Re-Charge Black Pepper Body Wash, Jergens Lotion, and Gillette Satin Care Shaving Cream.
