  • Here's an idea I can almost get behind, being somewhat of an impulse shopper when it comes to food: Save Money By Shopping Once a Month. I'd really miss fresh produce though, I think. Also not sure about freezing half-and-half...
  • Here's a guide -- with recipes! -- to cheap family meals for a week (much more do-able): A Week's Worth of Kid-Friendly Meals.
  • Budgeting as survival and lifestyle: Nan Mooney is living in an apartment in the basement of her parents' home, and hardly buying any baby/kid gear, toys, books, at all: Is My Anti-Materialism Hurting My Child?
  • Amelia @ the mom crowd has found a solution to her sock issues for her learning-to-walk-er. I'm assuming this also saves one money as keeping the socks organized by age/size helps you know when/if you do/don't need new ones.
  • Would you consider keeping your kids' toys in a frequent rotation with a minimum of storage space worth the monthly fee? "It's like Netflix for toys." Seems to me like my kid gets more than one-to-two months use out of his toys and I'd be spending more to rent than buy. What say you?
  • If you're more of a buy, use, then sell type, check out Handmedowns.com which organizes the traffic of used gear especially for moms. Items fall into a few useful categories, and pages are well organized and easy to navigate with thumbnail photos of the items, and sort options by price, location, etc.
