gaga-bib-152-130.jpgHave you seen how rad bibs are these days?

By Christine Coppa

If I could outfit my kid in a bib 24/7 I would. What!? I have a toddler who sort of mastered feeding himself with a spoon. That's a big sort of. And he's also teething = drooling. The type of drooling when you can literally wring out his tiny tee it's so wet. But seriously, lucky me--have you seen how rad bibs are these days? Bye-Bye boring terrycloth bib that doesn't match your kid's outfit, hello fashionable finds and my favs after the jump:

baggino.jpgBaggino Learner's Bib: Should be called "the-mother-of-all-bibs." This long-sleeved terrycloth smock with a Velcro closure in the back is trimmed in shiny satin--you pick the color (red, pink, baby blue, navy or grass green). I picked red for JD. Not only do I feed my little man in this machine-washable super-bib, we finger-paint and do other messy art projects in it too. It keeps the mess of your kid's dress! $12.50, Baggino.com

target.jpgDrooly: Anyone with a teething baby or toddler will appreciate this conversation-provoking addition to your child's wardrobe. Dubbed "Slobber-proof" and designed like a big, sloppy goop of drool, this machine washable bib is made with a water-proof fiber lining and quick absorbing cotton front. And it's freaking LOL adorable! $7.99, Target.

Olive_and_Ollie_little_cowpoke[1].jpgOlive and Ollie Little Cowpokes: Custom couture anyone? Yes please! This giddy-up cowboy bib is crafted with signature cowpokes fabric and is sewn with ultra soft cotton chenille. As for custom-made--it's appliquéd with your child's initial. I have one with a big ole' J. Secure the bib around baby's neck with the heavy-duty button closure and say bye-bye to scratchy-scratch Velcro for good. Measuring in at 9 X 12 inches this stylish bib is big enough for any mess and of course, it's machine-washable. $14, Etsy.com

travelingpea.jpgPluggy Pacifier Bib: All I'm saying is genius. Pure genius. JD loses his pacifier every other day. I find pacifiers on the floor of my Jeep, tangled in my bed sheets, in between couch cushions, sometimes in the toilet if the mood strikes him. This is why I absolutely love the "Pluggy Pacifier Bib." Not only does it keep drool at bay with it's soft cloth fabric, it comes in a bunch of stimulating designs (I love "vintage dots" as a gender-neutral pick) but the best, the pacifier clips onto it, therefore can't get lost and can't get dirty! Woo-who! $19.95, Travelingpea.com

lilypad.jpgCole Baby Bib: Amen for reversible-patterned bibs! Who doesn't love two bibs in one? Space-saving and stylish, this trendy number comes with a bad-to-the-bone camo side and a hot-to-trot flames side. One size fits all,100% cotton, machine-washable and JD-approved! (Bye-bye wishy-washy bunnies and bears clad bibs.) $12, Lilypad.com (Available in other fun prints, too.)

kushies.jpgKushies Water-Proof Bib: I have at least a dozen water-proof bibs in my bib drawer. They protect JD's outfit from sippy cup conundrums and other messy messes (spaghetti anyone?). This light-weight, water-proof bib means no yucky, stained cotton bibs and it even reduces clean-up time with its catch-all pocket that intercepts stray food before it hits your sparkling, clean kitchen floor. Simply rinse under the faucet and lay flat to dry. $4.49, available in seven punchy pattens, Kushiesonline.com

You're missing the one and only bib that a child needs...Chic&Clean Coverall by ChicTots (www.chictots.com). I bought one for my son when he was 6 mos old and he wore it till he was 2 yrs old. It kept his clothes clean from head to toe and was comfortable for him to wear. And the split leg for the high chair was so handy. I ended up throwing out all the other bibs that I wasted my $ on as the coverall was the only one we ever used.

Hello,

Lol! I have exactly the same problem with my toddler - dribble and druel everywhere. You wouldn't believe some of the messes that I have seen! All the bibs that I have seen around are really boring but some of the ones that you have included above are jut so cool! The drooly bib is my favourite - highly appropriate for my little one!

Thanks,

Chloe
