Episode 1: A South Beach Soiree
From the moment I first met Wanda I knew this was a wedding that just
had to be saved. Wanda was so sweet and soft spoken that I felt a
little badly getting rid of things that she had clearly labored over,
but I wasn't about to be shy about doing whatever necessary to give her
the over-the-top wedding she had always dreamed of. For me, personalization is the most important aspect to include in any event, not mentioning it's one of the biggest wedding trends this year! Modern brides are constantly finding fun and unique ways to put their personalities into their event and really make the day reflective of their personal style. From changing up the order of events, hosting at a unique location or incorporating a meaningful theme, the important thing to remember is that it's your day and should reflect you.
While I changed A LOT of Wanda's original wedding plan, she didn't need a full overhaul. She just needed a little help clarifying her vision and figuring out how to translate it into a white-hot event that would really wow her guests. I threw in a few surprises for her along the way to help transform the bride herself into the confident, elegant hostess she wanted to be on her wedding day.

I'm 1 of Wanda's bridesmaids (who tried her best to stay OFF camera, lol). I just wanted to say that David (and his team) did a phenomenal job, as this wedding was a dream come true. We were all blown away by the venue's transformation! Watching the show last night brought laughter & happy tears all over again. If ever anyone deserved such a wedding its definitely my girl Wanda! As great as this 1 hr episode was, it was simply a taste of this wedding's fabulousity! It was definitely one of those "you had to be there" moments!!!

Aww, thank you everyone for all of your comments. It makes me so happy to know that there were viewers out there who liked my episode. It was weird watching myself on tv. Felt more like a home video. Cant wait to see the other transformations David did for the other brides, especially not knowing their THEME til the week before.

Hey Wanda, I enjoyed you on My Fair Wedding! I absolutely loved the bridesmaids dresses. If possible, can you please tell me where you got those dresses or the designer (i've been researching various designers but haven't found the 3 tone of that gown), please? Those are my colors for my wedding; chocolate, lavendar and silver so i absolutely loved them!!!! My wedding is next year and I'm searching for the perfect gown for my bridesmaids.

Wanda, may god bless you and the family :) When I watched the episode I was completely blown away how Mr. Tutera captured the vision of a romantic wedding. After watching your wedding...it has made me want to have a wedding like yours. I loved the decor he used throughout the wedding and it has inspired me so much.

I was amazed at how easily it appeared for you to allowed David and his team take over your plans. You appeared to be very happy with the results, it was beautiful. I'm sorry WANDA but the colors you had before DAVID'S revisions were DIFFERENT. I think the part I like the most was about the drink, I LOVE it, you got to pick your favorite drink for your wedding, usually on wedding the drinks that are serve is what the guest most wanted, but is your day!!!

Wanda. Did you really like that dress? There was another one I thought you were super stunning in.
I actually think that Marilyn Monroe inspired dress was gorgeous, just not on me nor for my theme. It didnt quite fit right. I just watched Mandys wedding and think that dress would have been perfect for her.
I chose my dress because it was so pretty, and more so, comfortable and i knew i'd have to be to do my dance as well. it also fit the theme (the south beachy look)... I loved it.

I want to congratulate you both. I saw all 3 episodes yesterday and want to say that I think yours by far has been the best in everything. Transformation, decor, etc. I love the theme first of all, but what he did to the rooms were gorgeous. It wasnt your traditional wedding but it was very CHIC and I think that alone says it all. The Ceremony room was to die for. It was the most beautiful Ceremony I have ever seen. I called all my friends and had them watch the re-run yesterday because 2 of us in the click are getting married in 2010 and are trying to look for a theme. Right now, YOURS is in the running.. Well, its probably the only one we have because we are so not liking the 2 last episodes.
We have to now figure out whether or not to hire David or someone from out here in CT. Do you know what he charges for something like yours?
I have a question tho, what song/music did you use for the Ceremony and for the Entrance in the reception room? was it the music they played on tv? it was very nice btw, I am just curious.

I forgot to mention your dress and ice cubes. I thought it looked very pretty on you. You looked amazing. THe dress you had originally picked out was nice but the one you ended up wearing looked gorgeous. I dont know you, but for some reason, it suited your personality. Hope you understand what I mean. Ha!
the ice cubes lookes so cute in the mojito drink. Were they utilized throughout the entire wedding, or just during cocktail or reception. Speaking of, did you have a cocktail hour? They didnt show any of that. It would have been nice to see what David did for that hour.

I just finished watching all 3 episodes. Love them in the following order.

#3: Jennifer and Marcello - Princess Theme
Wanda and Bert's wedding was (as Bert would say) OFF THE HOOK.. sorry, Bert. ha. This wedding was truly a DREAM WEDDING. The decor was breathtaking and something straight out of heaven. Wanda, your dress was so pretty and very beachy like. Nothing like the one you purchased, although I did think it looked nice on you. Btw, I cried when you cried.
The ceremony was gorgeous. Very bright and LOVE LOVE the candles. The Reception was amazing and those center pcs and furniture, WOW. should I go on?
Mandy and Mike's wedding was pretty cool. Its funny because it was so THEM. The dress looked really nice on you, but a bit too much on your bridesmaid. Im happy you got to wear it.
Jennifer and Marcello's wedding really didnt do much for me, but I love what David did to the room seeing what it looked like b4. The Castle was gorgeous.

I just want to say that your episode was really good. I too love South Beach and was thinking about getting married out there. I said to myself, oh well, who ever makes it, makes it, ' BUT because of your theme and how much you wanted your theme no matter what, Im re-thinking it. I may just have it out here in New York.
The thought of having my wedding look like yours would be amazing. It was GORGEOUS.

I live in Miami and have only seen pics on this site but I see that your episode airs tomorrow. I cant wait to watch it bc Im getting married in South Beach July of next year and want to see exactly how David put all this together. from the photos, it looked gorgeous so Im excited to watch.
Im getting married on the beach and reception will be in one of the hotels. not sure which bc of $$. my fiance and I have to see what works best with our budget.... Maybe I can just rent a spot and have David help me out.

I just finished watching all 4 episodes they were all nice and different,but I LOVED your South Beach theme out of all of them. It was amazing how David transformed your ceremony and reception rooms, I couldnt believe it. Especially how the ceremony looked with the candles and flower petals on the aisle runner. The reception with all that loungy furniture really set that off and the lighting...WOW..Like Bert said "it was off the hook"

I saw this episode today for the first time and LOVED it. My gf's called me bragging about what David did and I think its crazy how he created this vision for the bride and groom. it really did look like a lounge and i think it was perfect. I miss South Beach. haha

I fell in love with the ceremony. It brought tears in my eyes when I saw everyone walking in. It was BEAUTIFUL. The lighting in that room was crazy. Was that room lit up just by candles? because that is exactly what it looked like. If you think about it, it was like being on the beach. Nothing but sunlight.

Wanda: Your wedding was incredible and so were you. I checked out the website where your wedding dress came from (you referred to it in an earlier post), as well as the designer but unable to find the dress you wore. Do you know the name of the neckline style, or name of the dress style? We are getting married in June and I love the style of your dress but hoping for something a little less formal (2nd marriage and both of us are in our 50's but still look pretty good :o). whats funny is that my FAVORITE MOVIE IS TROY, and if I wasnt going to have a South Beach Wedding, I would have wanted something looking like straight of the movie itself, BUT there was NO way I would have been able to pull any of that off. AT ALL.. lol.. What would Bert have worn.. ? Wonder what David would have put together for something like this..? hmm, Im sure he would have made it happen. Its DAVID for crying out loud.. What CANT he do, right? :-)

My sister was on this episode. She was one of the Hair stylists from New York. The one with the green bag. and the very blonde hair. It was so cool. She was on it like 4 times.
