Hi everyone,
Post: I absolutely love your show.. You have given me some great Ideas.. Our wedding is on the 4th of July.. We are having a nice outside wedding with a Texas BBQ type reception. Our main colors are Navy and White with a spash of red.. Just not sure how to incorperate the red without it looking tacky.. We have a very tight budget so I am doing (trying to do ) everything myself.. Most of the wedding part are in other states..
I am looking for candles and outside lighting in leau of flowers simply because of the budget... ANY HELP!!!! will be greatly appreciated.

You are on the right track! And you are correct; it is difficult to do a July 4th wedding without looking too "patriotic-themed," so beware! I suggest you take the colors and design your wedding in monochromatic designs. Each table can be created in one solid color. For example, do a table that is all red: red table cloth, red napkins, and glass containers filled with red-colored water (add floating candles that are red, too.) You can actually do a couple containers per table--this is so affordable and will look amazing! Imagine one table all red, then the next all blue, and for white do clear water and white candles. This is an elegant way to stay with the red white and blue look.
If you are able to do sparklers, have guests light them during the cutting of your wedding cake (assuming you do this outdoors!) You can also incorporate red, white and blue candies into your party for some fun, too! Happy Entertaining!
You are off to a great start, don't worry! You already have your groom(!!!), you have your date, and you have your venue: this is exactly the order of duty to plan your wedding. Next, work on finding your entertainment and your photographer as these two vendors book up fast, and you'll want to make sure you leave yourself time to find the ones you really want. Then, it's onto flowers and décor, followed by all the other details.
Remember, invitations have to be sent out eight weeks before your wedding date, so plan ahead so you have time to find invites you love and also have time to print, address and mail them. (For you, I recommend that you start your invitation process in March please!)
Happy Planning!!
Hi Emmalinda,
So here is the thing... Great wedding celebrations do NOT have to be the traditional sit down dinner party! Think unique! Have a fabulous cocktail reception that is not an hour-long cocktail party but a party created as a cocktail celebration. Serve great drinks, pass tasty foods and set up food stations. You don't have to have a full bar, just a few unique drinks allowing for more fun items to be served. You can even have the ingredients at the bar for guests to make their own drinks adding interesting activity to the moment (and eliminating a bartender to save money!)
The key to the success of this type of party is to have different foods and drinks come out to guests as the party progresses, thus allowing the party to grow in energy. Having everything out from the beginning doesn't allow for the party develop. For entertainment and music, you can have a great DJ so your guests can dance. Hope this helps!
I love the simple, clean lines of black and white, but you are correct--you should be wary of the fact that using all black fabric is dark, and I want to make sure you are comfortable with this. I would suggest using a white cloth that has a fantastic black print: it's a great look and makes a bigger visual splash in the overall space. If you don't like that, you can do a white underlay cloth (the base cloth which should drape to the floor) and have a black overlay (the top cloth that is shorter) that can break up the look of all black. Do white napkins to be seen on the top black overlay cloth. As for flowers, you can use all white flowers and/or add in white anemones that have black centers. White Gerber flowers that have black centers also are a great option--both are amazing touches to your black and white wedding.

Good Luck!
Rena,
I actually love chocolate brown. My offices are that color, accented with sky blue and khaki. Those colors work wonderfully for a wedding. I also love love love chocolate brown accented with lavender and cream for fall wedding, as well as chocolate brown, copper and deep oranges. You have great taste to start your designs with chocolate. Have fun designing.
Thank you for the kind words; you are sweet! Your ideas sound like a lovely design and a great wedding. First off, do not pay attention to the carpet. I always tell my brides that they are usually influenced by looking at the space when it's empty, but with guests, tables, and a dance floor in place, you will not see it as much.
I love the ceiling of paper lanterns concept. Some companies also make wireless LED lights that are very easy to hang inside lanterns so they are illuminated and look amazing in a room. It adds a great glow to the party space.
I suggest using soft pink linens instead of white linens. This will work with your color scheme and also blend nicely with all the beige in the room. I would love to see a picture when you are done!
First of all, you have the best scenario possible! Multicultural weddings are filled with so much to share with your guests. My guidance to you is this...Have your food represent both of you. You can have foods from different cultural backgrounds served at different times--this is so enjoyable. You can do this with drinks too for fun cocktails. For desserts, have a unique dessert served from one of your heritages, or serve up a recreation of a special dessert someone in your family made when you were a kid. These special touches add a great customization to your big day. The music is another wonderful place to showcase your multicultural wedding. I can already tell yours is really is going to be an amazing event!
Finding Mr. Right is of course important, but planning, imagining and thinking of your big day is fun--so keep dreaming of that special day. We begin filming season two in just a few weeks, and it will be airing at the end of August so keep your eyes and ears open! I love this show and love working with my brides on "My Fair Wedding!!"
Hi there... I love Chicago, it's one of my favorite places. You have some truly wonderful venues to choose from in the Windy City. I have done parties at the Field Museum, The House of Blues, The Lyric Opera House stage and more.
Thanks so much for watching my show!!! Maybe one of these days, we will come to Chicago to film "My Fair Wedding"-- that would be great!
This show for me has become such a gift. I adore each bride I meet, and I love to really listen to them to see what it is they are wishing and dreaming for. I know that so many times budget comes into play and causes some wrong decisions. Also, so many brides are rushing to get things done and looking in the wrong places for their wedding items... so helping out these brides on the show and those watching means so much to me. I have been doing this for over 20 years, and this is one of the most gratifying things I have had the chance to do. I only hope I can bring "My Fair Wedding" to you for many years and continue to take all brides' visions and make a few "revisions." Thank you for enjoying the show.
CaSandra, thank you for sharing your story. You have two reasons to celebrate: the union of your marriage and the celebration of life. I am so happy you are doing well, and that, as you know, is so important. The fact that you are ready to live life and celebrate is amazing, and I am delighted for you. I wish I could give you a huge hug! Aruba is stunning and a wonderful location to have your wedding party. We are casting for season two of show, but it's for weddings from March to May. Believe me, I would love to come to Aruba to make your dreams come true!
Don't worry that you are not "girlie," it's completely okay! Make this YOUR wedding, and find things that truly represent you and your groom as a couple. Use the beautiful natural surroundings of Aruba to become your backdrop, and make sure sunset plays into your wedding timeline somehow. Congratulations on everything, and celebrate your life in style!
Thanks for watching the show. The pink champagne is called Nuvo sparkling liquor. It's great mixed with champagne and garnished with raspberries. It's a fantastic drink for weddings. A toast to you!!
To apply for the show, send an e-mail to mfw@pilgrimfilms.com. We are filming season two soon!
As for your wedding dress--do you want a flowing, light chiffon dress that is wonderful for an outdoor wedding, or a more formal dress for an indoor ballroom-like setting? I would suggest that since you are having an intimate wedding, go more flowing and elegant. That style will look amazing in the setting you have described. I would, however, suggest that you add jewelry to this gown to dress it up--jewelry will really make it feel special. So many brides opt for simple, understated dresses without adding accessories, and that to me is a huge mistake. This is your wedding--you need to look all dressed up with somewhere to go!
I do all types of parties! Weddings are a part of my business. I love doing the Moroccan theme; it's the best...Lots of color and lots of spices. Think bold and bright, and enjoy finding your décor--use lots of lanterns, bowls of spices and foods, and lots of texture.
I love that your family watches my show. Thanks so much--and you've invited me to your wedding! You are so kind, thank you!!
Having friends and family in from all parts of the country is the best when you are celebrating a wedding. It makes it feel somewhat like a family reunion. So with that said, make sure you are creating an environment that truly includes everyone and makes the wedding feel special. I love the bridal tea, golf tournament, beach party and baseball game--it's all fantastic. Make sure you give your guests some down time, too, so they can rest up for the wedding. As much as guests love to be entertained, they also appreciate not being over-entertained, as well! So have fun, (which it certainly sounds like you will) and thanks again for watching the show. Season two is going to happen so keep an eye out!
Congrats! I love that you are combining these two big events and doing it in Vegas. I love it there. For your dinner make sure its somewhere romantic. Try Le Cirque at The Bellagio, Delmonico Steakhouse at The Venetian or Mon Ami Gabi at Paris... Change locations for a special dessert, like going to the Chocolate Swan at Mandalay Bay. For more, check out all the dining possibilities at: http://lasvegas.citysearch.com/yellowpages/results/Las_Vegas_NV/page1.html?flavor_id=2&cw3=54
Your dress should feel bridal, but not "overly bridal" in style. Long length is my suggestion, flowing in fabric. It should feel like an evening gown, but with bridal in its core style. Not heavy in beading, almost old Hollywood in style. Choosing the color without seeing the bride is hard for me to answer as I believe color has to match your skin tone (and I also am a firm believer the style of dress has to match your body type!)
Hope this helps! Have fun! Roll the dice for me.
You are right! Every single woman should have the wedding of her dreams! I like how you are thinking ahead, it's fantastic. You would be surprised how many girls I meet that have all their wedding plans in place but no groom! Its okay, just don't share that bit of info when you meet Mr. Right. LOL! Your tastes may change as time moves forward, so keep looking at things that you like and add to your dream wedding plans!
Okay. So lesson learned--never go to a counter in a department store for a trial of your wedding make-up. At least now, you know that is not the right place. Unfortunately I do not know the San Diego area for make up, but you need to find an artist that does weddings and--that you are comfortable with. You are accurate by doing a test-run (see what you found out! This is WHY we do test runs!) Remember your make up must make you look like yourself, and never like you are so done up that you won't recognize yourself when you look at your pictures. Sorry, I don't have actual make up artists to refer you to--but my best advice is that hair and make up should look elegant but YOU and an artist who can make that happen is one to keep!
hello david i wanted to tell you i love your show and my question is my fiance is from barbados and since all is family is there we decided to have the wedding there, but it is not cheap so we decided to just have family, but now some of our friends know about it and asked if we are giving away tickets for people to go, i didn't answer cause i really don't know or if we have the money too i don't know what to say or do and the last thing is do i pay for the bridemaids dresses or do they? thanks for the help.
the soon to be tasha phillips
Hello David I love your work, it is amazing! My question is… my husband and I will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary in about 20 months. We didn’t have a “Wedding”, we were married the little wedding chapel of horrors, complete with plastic flowers, “dead doves” and sold live bait. I would like to have a wedding now, but I feel like a ridiculous conceited fool having a real wedding at this point. What would you suggest?
David,
I am having a classic traditional wedding with the colors black and cream. Do you have any ideas on how to transform my reception hall (on a budget)? I plan to have black tablecloths with cream runners to keep the color scheme. My centerpieces are alternating short and tall. Short arrangements of hydrangeas and tall curly willows. I will mix candlelight throughout the room. I am not allowed to put anything up on the wall or ceiling. How do you make classic elegance out of nothing?! Am I going in the wrong direction?
David i was just wondering how does someone sign up to have you do their wedding and who pays for everything that you change? I am getting married next year so i was just wondering how you sign up to have your help.
David,
I just recently got engaged on Christmas Day. We're planning the wedding for March 20, 2010. I know it's a long ways away but we are short on money so i figured it would give me a while to save up. My question is, I really like the red and gold colored theme. Not a bright bling bling gold, but more of a bronze, royal, gold if that makes sense. Do you think that Red and Gold is a bad color choice for a March wedding? Also, I am illiterate when it comes to flowers. Do you have any flower ideas to match my color theme but is something a little different?!
Thanks so Much,
JonelleMarie
David im just wondering if you have ever designed a sweetsixteen. I just want to know how to sign up and how much it would be. I need help trying to put a sweetsixteen together and its very short notice because my birthday is in march. Im just want to know if you do. Thank you.
David,
Im getting married on October 31st, 2009. If you decide to venture out to other states for your show, look me up. I could use all the help I can get! I think you are awesome!
Thanks,
Virginia
Hi David,
I'm getting married on May 24, 2009 and I would love your help...Is there any way I can be on your show or you can help me plan my wedding? So far I have about 500 guests and the ceremony is in Brooklyn, NY and the reception is in Queens. Because of the amount of guest I;m going to have to have 2 receptions...one in Brooklyn directly following the ceremony for everyone and the other in Queens for about 200 guest which include close family and friends... Please help, help, help.. I'm also working with a budget but I want to be the ultimate princes... Please help!

David,
Hello my queston is I am getting married in March 2010 and my colors are Pool (aqua) blue and chocolate. I had an idea of wooden letters at each table that say "I do" and at the sweetheart table to say "We do" the letters would be in our colors. Not painted wooden letters but I would get some scrapbooking paper and lay it over the letter and cut it to size. I was also thinking of the whole candle thing as well.....does this idea seem tacky and do you have any ideas for something similar but better?
Thanks!
Hey David, Let me start out by saying that you are a genius and I adore your show. My colors are Canary and honeydew. The problem is the reception. Due to the time my reception wil be at a local elementary school in Beaufort South Carolina. I trying to make this day the best ever but I do not know how I am going to pull this day off. Please give me some tips on how I could make the school look wounderful. Is there anything I can do. Is their any way you could make this day a wounderful day. Hope you can help. -- Charisse
Hello David! This isn't really a question; I just really wanted to tell you how I admire you and wonderful you are. I am touched by all your dedication and careful consideration. Everyone can't tell you enough how talented and amazing you are. My Fair Wedding and Party Planner just put me to tears. Just seeing the smiles you put on people's faces and kindness that just shines from your personality is absolutely heart warming. I've seen each My Fair Wedding episode at least 3 times each and every time I'm still touched. I get so excited for the bride and groom that I feel like I'm actually there. Giving these wonderful people the wedding of their dreams is one of the greatest gifts you could possibly give. Every wedding is just breath taking!! I am just speechless with each occasion that you create. You truly are a saint. And the touching sincere things you have to say about each individual, proves how much you truly care. I just adore you! I hope that someday I am able to give back to people as much as you have for others.
Hi, I actually just started watching the show...I just wanted to know is it actually possible to have a wedding with a $4,000 dollar budget..If so what do you recommend???
Hello David,
I absolutely love watching you and think you are just fantastic. While watching your show, it never crossed my mind that I would be planning my own wedding soon.
I am getting married May 1st of this year. I know 3 months away. And while this is the day that every girl has dreamed of, I have been dreaming more about having a great marriage. My husband to be lives on the west coast, while I'm here in Florida. Any chance you would want to do a special on Beach weddings..:) That's what I want to do. I have my colors red and white..I know I want the beach and an outdoor reception overlooking the water..but that's pretty much it. I don't want any "typical", "pink", "bubbles", stuff..I'm not that at all. I don't know about flowers, music, or anything like that..I just want to marry him. Oh yea and we are on a very tight budget. But all I want is very intimate and elegant wedding for 50 people..nothing overdone or dramatic..very simple, with our love at the center of it all. Any suggestions...I need a lot of help, too much to do and its just me. Thanks so much David, your great!
How can I enter to possible have David Tutera, the wedding guru, help me with a possible wedding ceremony this summer? My husband and I are currently married; however we could not have a ceremony as planned because we found out that we were pregnant. Therefore, instead we opted for the quick "I do's" with our local judge, which was hilarious because our "guests" were repeated offenders of DUI, Drug possession, convicted felons etc...., and then dinner with our parents. Kind of like dinner and a movie concept..Lame I know. We liked the opportunity to share it with our parents but would love another chance to proclaim our love with our daughter and our extended family. And for this reason, the chance to have David Tutera help through our new endeavor would be an extra added bonus, ok lets be real it would be an amazing experience. Therefore, if someone could possible let me/us know how to enter to be on his show it would be well appreciated from the heart! Thank you
Hi David-
I absolutely love you and your show. You have such amazing visions and ideas, and I am so jealous that you are not here with me to help plan my wedding. I am getting married on October 10, 2009. Since my fiance and I got engaged in Napa, we decided to go with a wine-themed wedding. My bridesmaids dresses are crimson. We want to use deep wine and fall colors. I am starting to look into ideas for centerpieces. We decided that we do not want to use flowers as our centerpieces because we are on a tight budget. Can you give me some ideas for centerpieces, keeping to our wine theme??
Hello David!
As you can tell everyone loves your show and I am one of those many! Every time I watch one I get super excited about my fast approaching May 23, 09 Wedding!!! I am writing to ask you what you would think about centerpieces. I am having 32 tables. On 20 of them I am having 3 feet tall Manzanita branches and hanging votives off of them. On the bottom covering the base will be flowers. My problem is the other 12 tables. I am not to sure what to do. Oh, and the 20 tables sit 10 people where as the other 12 will sit 8 so there is a size difference in the tables. Any advice is greatly appreciated and thank you so much in advance for your time!

Hi David. I must say I love your show. I'm planning an late summer/early fall wedding. Our colors are a dark teal and silver. I'm at a lost as to what flowers to use! I really don't want to do roses, I would rather they have a hand picked/wildflower look to the bouquets as we're having a garden wedding (with a Celtic theme).
Hi David, my name is Claire I Love your show. I posted this question once before. I was wondering where did Many get her wedding cake from and was the silver on her cake cake jewelery or was it icing?
David, I love your show and I am so happy that I can ask you a question. My husband and I are having a 10th year anniversary wedding in 2015 (maybe) we are looking at our financing and if he will even be here in the states- because of military service. Well back to my question, David, I am having a hard time of finding/thinking about a theme that would fit our wedding. Also, I wish you could be our planner, I would so save every penny I could to have you plan this wedding that I have waited for, for TEN years.
Hey David I love your show. I'm getting married on June 13, 2009. My colors are cornflower, silver and white. I noy yo sure on what flowers to use. So far I got the church, reception hall, food, I really just don't have anu decorations. I was thinking a fairy tale. I need help!
Hi David, First let me say I love your show my husband even watches it with me.
Now here is one that maybe I can get some direction on. My husband of 10 years asked me to re-marry him last year and we are planning on renewing our vows this November on our 11th. My question is what is and is not appropriate for a vow renewal? We would like to have some type of party and I know my husband and I would love to finally have a wedding cake that actually taste good (long story there) and maybe even some professional photos since friends did our photos when we married due to finances. I can't seem to find anything that would present this as a wonderful and special event Thank you.
Hi, My name is Kaitlin and I am only 11 But I am leaving this comment because I would like to know how the people that are on your show are picked, Because I would like to find a way to try and get my Mom on the show Because she REALLY deserves a nice wedding of her dreams all she ever does is take care on me and my other brothers and sisters there is 6 of us and all of are animals there are almost 30 of them. She is a great mom that cares for everyone and everything before herself. I just really would like to see mom finally get something nice for herself.
First I will to with hello. Well I am getting married in three I will love to know when it the right time to start planning. Also I really love your show there so any thing nice wonderful you come up with and they our very nice... Every Sunday I look forward seeing your show. I hope you comment back and let me thank you and god bless... mari2000_96@hotmail.com ... THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN..
Hello David: First, I love your show My Fair Wedding. Don't know how you pull everything off so perfectly in such a short time, but it's fantastic...My son is getting married in November 2009. So far things are moving along - The bride chose bridesmaid dresses in chocolate (sable) with champagne color sashes. Not the most flattering for several girls of various sizes from small to tall some with large bone structures and several with (excuse the term) big buns. She is most set on spending more for pictures than anything else. The bride has decided on a Fall Theme but has no idea what to do or what flowers to use. The reception hall has oval tables that seat 8-10 comfortably and will supply candelabras, linens, etc.. She was thinking of using cornucoopias, or a few pumpkins but really not sure of anything else. As the mother of the groom, (I know it's not really my place to say, but we've offered to assist with paying for the bridal bouquets and maybe part of what goes at the reception) I'd very much like your suggestions on what to do. The fall colors of reds, oranges, yellows, etc. would probably look very nice with the dresses. My question is basically, what suggestions do you have with something for the reception tables and would you do small bouquets of one or two types of flowers and which ones or what? The reception hall has a great website showing the room style, etc. which may help you answer these questions. The name of the reception hall is Fisher's Tudor House in Bensalem, PA. One other questionf for you - the bride is trying to have the groomsmen wear black tuxedos with chocolate vests/ties???
Thank you so much David for any ideas or suggestions you can offer. *Sorry this was so long* God Bless You and Keep Up the Great Work - It's Wonderful!

Hi David, I want to tell you that I love your show, you are simply inspirational! My fiance and I plan to get married in late 2009 or early 2010 in the Houston, Texas area. Do you know of any good wedding planners or venues in this area? I have one major concern, most of the weddings I have attended did not have a cocktail hour, there was simply a ceremony and a reception. How important is the cocktail hour and at what time do you have it during the wedding day? Also, what are some major no no's for wedding decor? Any advice would be appreciated and thanks for all the great ideas. Lili
Hi David!
I am having a somewhat "Irish" themed Wedding this March. We are actually spending our honeymoon in Ireland for St. Patrick's Day. I bought 2"x2" favor boxes to place at the guest tables at each seat. I originally thought I would put candy in them, but my fiance isn't much of a sweets eater, so I would like to maybe put something that both of us enjoy. Any ideas on items other than candy or sweets to put in the favor boxes?
Thanks!
My name is Zayn Valin and my wedding dated is April 10, 2010. I just recently watch your T.V. show, a couple of my coworker was telling me about it . I thought the work that you do are so amazing I couldn’t believe how you turn every wedding to a spectacular wedding. I have some question for you I am trying to plan a destination wedding in Puerto Rico which is very hard because I live in Long Island ,NY yea my point exactly. It is coming along I went to a website that has review on couple of hotels in San Juan Puerto Rico. You may be asking why Puerto Rico, because my family has never left the country , I thought that this will be a vacation as well.I know especially how I want my wedding to be I have my wedding dress and choosing my bridesmaid dresses as well. I just don’t know how it all going to inter play in Puerto Rico and that’s what scares me the most. I feel because I not there and I dont know where to began. I have not seen these hotels beside what on the website as pictures. I would like your input about this destination wedding . Please help.... Thank you David
P.S. Thank for being who you are because base on your show you have change lives for brides in the future. I
David,
I just wanted to tell you I'm a huge fan but I have a question. My husband and I got married in June 2008 but we planned our wedding in five days because he was deploying to Iraq and I was pregnant. The wedding was small and in my in-laws front lawn with the reception in the backyard. Ever since I was a little girl I had plans for my wedding and although our wedding was beautiful, it wasn't close to what my husband and I had wanted. One, does your show do vowel renewals? Two, is it poor etiquette to change your wedding date because we were married in June but wanted to have an October wedding. Thank you so much in advance for your advice and time.
-Lauren
Hi David! I just wanted to say that I am huge fan of your work. I have enjoyed how you have transformed weddings and all kinds of party. I am getting married on August 8th at a winery in riverside county. My colors are Victorian lilac, lilac and platinum. I wanted a very scenic venue which I have accomplished. The venue is setup like a chateau. I am having some issues with the decorations (especially the centerpieces and the rest of the decor. Not sure about what kind of flowers to select. Also, there is not a lot of room for indoor reception. I am opting to rent a canopy/tent because we are in southern California and even though it is a evening wedding (starts at 5pm) it will still be hot. I need help with some ideas for decorating this tent/canopy but I don't want to take away from the winery's natural beauty. The winery's ceremony site gives me my grand entrance with an elevated gazebo overlooking the vineyard. There are fountains and motifs. I need some help with the reception. Anything you can suggest, I will truly appreciate it. My theme that I am going for is simple, elegant and chic.
I adore your show. You seem like such an awesome, lovable, guy. Any girl would be lucky to have you as their wedding planner! I was wondering if you could help me out. I'm just starting the search for a venue and haven't really found anything. I'm looking for unique venues in the Washington, D.C area. I wanted something where I could have my wedding ceremony outside but then the reception inside. I know I don't want a hotel but other than that I'm kind of lost. My guest list is around 160 people.
Hi David, I love your work! I need a bit or more of advice I sent you and e-mail but I was so nerviouse I don't know if I addressed it right! I am getting married in two months, and origianly we wanted a beach wedding but we had to change plans because of money issues! So now I have slapped a smile on my face so my fiance' wont get his feelings hurt! We have to get married at a court house on a weekday, then on the day we planned the wedding we are having a vow reading and reception in our little condo! I truely am depressed about it all, I wanted something a little more but atleast I am marrying my best friend of 18 years! It's the last step to complete our little family (5 children). Well my question is how can I make this day elegant and not so white trash on a tiny budget? Please help I am lost and am afraid it will begin to show how sad I am about it the closer to the big day!!!!! I don't want my fiance' to feel sad I want this day to be a proud moment for him too! Thank you for your time Sherene xoxoxoxo
David,
I just have to say that if I ever get married again (hopefully will) I hope you will still be giving out advise on how to make the day perfect.

David, I love ur style ! love ur ideas! love ur taste and I love u! Who doesnt?
I am a wedding planner. I Was taught and trained by family members, Parties runs in the family.
I particularly love to do weddings and XVanos celebrations. From floral to ceremony coodinating to cleaning after the party, I do all. I have a business that i opened may 2008 but I'm not being able to promoto myself, find costumers, marketing. I haven't made any profit yet besides the happiness on the faces of the people I help, which would be enough if i didn't need the money.
I do not know how to "charge" for my services (I always underestimate costs and take money out of my pocket to perfect the celebration) and I tend to end up on red because of it.
I love what I do and I want to keep doing it. My greatest reward is to see the couple ecstatic with joy. I normally donate time as well and people seek me when they need probono work or they are in a extremely low budget. Now that my husband lost his job I feel the necesity of making money using my talents. Please help. i'm desperate! i'm all over the place, depressed, discouraged. I'm hoping you will bring me encouragment. Thanks in advance, I know you wont dissapoint.
Sandra
Hi David, first of all I wanted to say that I love your show and am in 'Awe' everytime I see your show; you do such amazing work. My name is Marisol and I'm getting married on Aug. 15, 2009. My colors are champagne and maroon but the venue I'm having my reception at offers white linens and color linen for additional charge. My problem is that their table skirts are in white only, and I was planning on using the colors champagne and maroon. Also, do you have any suggestions on what I could use as a centerpiece. I love the flower ideas you've used on the shows, but they can get pricey. I want my wedding to have the "WOW" affect, but I'm on a tight budget. Please Help me!

My partner and I are getting married September 20, 2009, in Westchester County, NY. We are spending about 7,000 - 8,000 on flowers and decor (we are using Forever in Bloom). My father (who, btw, loves your show, and is a total Dadzilla) thinks that our flower/decor budget is entirely too high. However I think it is pretty reasonable considering the budget for everything else. Do you think we are crazy to be spending that much of flowers and decor? Or is the amount we are spending pretty average for a wedding in our area (as I suspected)? Thank you so much for you time!
Jessie
Hello David! First let me say that I love your show. I wish I could be one of those lucky brides. I am planning my wedding for July 2010. I am so excited!!! My colors are lavender, silver and white. My one issue is that I live in Texas but was born and raised in Kenner, La. Most of my family is back home and I want my wedding there so that everyone can attend. Am I asking too much for my friends here in Texas to travel? I want everyone to be a part of this special day. What can I do?
Hi David My daughter was getting married in Dec at a beautiful hall but I hurt my back and have not been able to work for a while. So I had to cancel her reception at the hall. We are going to try to rent a tent and do it in june by the lake where we live. What can I do on a small budget to make it pretty without it looking dollar store. Please help I dont want to dissapoint my daughter any more.
Love the show! Any ideas on a Halloween Wedding Costume Reception party?
Dear David,
Happy Valentine's Day. I watched My Fair Wedding for the first time today since I never had the WE channel before. I loved what you did for Mandy and the other beautiful brides. Your work is absolutely remarkable and truly appreciated. I am getting married on June 6, 2009. We have taken care of all the major vendors. There are still many little details and things to address. As the wedding approaches, I am starting to be more in a panic mode. My fiancé and I have been paying and planning our wedding since December, 2007. It’s been very overwhelming for both of us, since we haven’t had at assistance from our bridal party and families. Everyone seems to have much going on, which it understandable. We are at the point where we are both stressed. As we were assembling our invites, I broke down and cried. It appears that we bicker about any and everything lately. I am not certain if this is something we are supposed to experience, however, it’s not the most greatest. There are days when I just want to call off the wedding. There has been so much going on for the past year and half. My mother has been in and out of the hospital eight times and has seen specialist after specialist. The doctors are unable to determine what is causing her symptoms.
Any advice or comments on how to elevate the stress or pressure will be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Faz
I am trying to find out how to appear on your show. My fiancee and I have been together for 7 years and we are FINALLY getting married. We have 2 children and they are excited that their parents are getting married. I have not yet set a date because I'm holding out for you. Please let me know what I can do to be a part of the show.
Hi David. My name is Jenelle. My fiance and I have had nothing but problems since we've been engaged. (None of which as been our own making). We got engaged almost a year ago. Almost immediately after we got engaged my fiance lost his job because his place of employment burned down. Soon after he got a job as a shop supervisor and due to economic reasons lost his job. This happened mulitple times (which has all SUCKED). NOW, he is currently working for BMW and is almost in a secure position with the option of advancing. (Finally after almost a year. ) I still don't have an engagement ring because when we were finally able to afford (remember, right after he proposed without a ring, which was un-orthidox, his shop burnt down) a ring, the ring ended up loosing 2 diamonds within the first half hour of having it on my finger. We returned the ring after many battles with the jewler (Sterling Company) and since we have been unable to find a ring that is just as perfect. There are so many unfortunate circumstances surrounding our situation, but we are trying to have our wedding of our (lol... ok so my) dreams with little to no money available. I have lived in the Poconos of PA all of my life, and he, most of his. From everyone I know in the restauant and hotel industry, it's impossible to have the wedding I want, or even CLOSE to what I want, at the price I can afford.
David, this is the only wedding that I want in my life. And I really want it to be memorable, but at this point, I'm looking at a firehall wedding with entrees served from aluminum containers. I've worked within the restaurant and/or hotel industry for the past seven years. A lot of people are expecting more from me, and there is no way that I can give them what they or (especially) I want. The Poconos is expensive to get married in, and I'm lost in what I should do..... I have no idea.
Currently, I run Mama Bella's at Fernwood Resort (if you don't already know, it is their fine dining restaurant), but working there I know the ins and outs... its hard to say I want my wedding there... there are so many things I want that I can't have... I cry on a nightly basis because I want the wedding of my dreams and the only way I can is if I postpone it for at least a year... Please. I really hope that you are willing to help me... I just want to get married, and I really want all my true friends and family there... and this is sooo emotional for me... and it hurts every time I think about postponing it because postponing is not fair to Alan and I.... but I so want the wedding of our dreams.... and I'm so scared that no matter what I do... it's not going to be right or we're not going to be able to afford the wedding in which I desire...
If you could give me ANY advice, I reallly would appreciate it. Thank you soo much in advance. If you'd like to contact me in anyway... the easiest is: jhenry@fernwoodhotel.com or jenellemhenry@yahoo.com
PS.. My fiance, Alan, has no idea that I'm writing this, he keeps believing we're going to be okay. I'm a full time psychlogy student and full time restaurant manager He has no idea, how much all this is costing me because as much as he understands, there's a lot involved he dosent . . . . .
I really appreciated anything you coud do to help... thank youl
Dear Mr. Tutera, Thank you so much for your fabulous show!!! My fiance' and I are in love with you! I am writing you for two reasons, one seems to be rather unconventional. The focus is always on the bride and "oh it is your special day!" "what ever you want it's your day". Well it's the grooms special day as well. My fiance' Ryan is just as excited about our wedding on 7/11/09 in Santa Barbara CA. as I am, and I would like him to feel as special as all of your wonderful brides do. Any ideas as to what I could do to make him feel like a prince? For he truly is the prince to my princess. Also my Maids were dead set on teal for their dresses, my gown is Diamond white and the wedding ceremony will be by the ocean with evening reception outdoors, any ideas on what colors I should use for flowers and linens? Thank You for your time and best regards, Lori in So Cal
(posted to My Fair Wedding) Loriagogo@hotmail.com
To Lori in So Cal -- I adore you for thinking of your groom! So sweet! Have him included in the wedding planning process... Many grooms love it. Bring him along for music selections, food tastings and along for other wedding decisions--as often as you think he will want to be included. Including him will make him feel special and will make him feel like your Prince.
As for flowers for the girls: Teal is a great color in fashion but a difficult color for flowers, so stick to white, cream and perhaps an accent color. I love coral and peach with teal. Roses, orchids, lilies and calla lilies are wonderful and totally available to you that time of year.
Dear David,
As everyone has already stated your show is FANTASTIC. Every episode I've watched has me thinking any bride would love that. My favorite thing about your show or you is how you can incorporate a theme w/o choking on it. I'm currently planning my October wedding and am having just that dilemma. My fiance and I agree we love the fall colors and are trying to use it to our advantage. Our dilemma is that we both love music, whether it's concerts, filling our ipods and yes we love karaoke. In fact, that is how we met. I'm trying to figure out a way to incorporate our love for music with subtlety, I do not want a theme wedding and I don't want to look cheesy. It's still our wedding day and I want it to be beautiful and elegant.
Do you have any suggestions?
David:
I am in need of your expertise! My vision is to have a white wedding outdoor ceremony but my dress is ivory. Will it look bad? Should I do ivory on ivory instead? Thanks!
Dear David,
Please Help!! My sister is getting married in September and her plans are underway. Problem is I dont think she has a clue. I have tried giving my opinion but with little results. I am the maid of honor and litterally horrifide at some of the things she is setting up for. Her wedding is outdoors. She wants a dress that is white with cobalt blue trim which is pretty, then she wants (me) in Barney Purple which I find a little odd. She has two little girls following behind her that she wants in white dresses with purple sashes but wants flower girls in blue. Does this sound ok to you? She honestly doesnt have a clue on colors for an outdoor wedding and keeps coming up with off the wall stuff. But as for her reception, they want to put glass bowls on the tables with rocks at the bottom, filled with water. Then they are making lily pads to float on top and plan on buying these candle prince FROGS!!! to put on top of the lillies as center piece. I have tried telling her there are ways to have a pretty reception without breaking their budgets but this is what it has come to so far. They are holding it at the lions club and I feel for her. I never got the wedding I would of wanted and didnt have reception. I want her to feel like this is a special once in a life time thing and not some joke. How do I step in and help this from happening. I am over 2 hours from her and it kills me not to be closer to give her that girl to girl talk ideas and advice. She is only getting direction from fiance. Please could you help me out.
Thank you soo much

Hi David
I am getting married for the second time, we want a very small chapel wedding just a few family members attending but I am not sure how to make it as romantic and memorable with out doing a full blown wedding. I live in Newton MA maybe you may have some suggestions.
thank you

hi david!!! first of all let me start by saying you are one of the best, most creative planers i have seen on TV. I love your show and watch it all the time. Your work amazes me!!
my fiance and i were originally supposed to get married sept 27th, 09. due to some family issues we had to switch the date to sept 20th and thats when more problems started to appear. We cannot have the ceremony at the same place and the reason we booked the venue in the first place was because of the outstanding view where the ceremony would take place. also, due to their religion my parents don't feel comfortable with a church ceremony. The place is in new rochelle NY. We already paid a deposit..so its too late for us to back out of it. I am trying to make it work but every time i think about it i break down and cry. the ball room is average.. doesn't have much to offer and its small. We cannot get our money back and i'm stock. I am not happy with the place and have started to loose the desire to even go through with the wedding. We are spending more than we planned to pay per person and i feel like the wedding is not going to come out the way we wanted it. Do you have any suggestions for me? I'm stock and very stressed out. you are my last hope!! Love IDA

Hello,
My Name is Maria & i have not yet watched your show, but i sure will do so, by the comments and your advice you give sounds Great. I wanted to start out by saying I'am only 20 turning 21 this April and my Fiance is also the same age. Right now i'am going crazy looking and searching for a church in Virginia that has a beautiful reception place right near it can either be in a garden, i have not thought of it clearly. I plan on getting married next summer is God permits it. I want everything to be close. We do have a tight budget its only us two putting in all we got to fullfill our dream. Would you know a local place here in virginia where i can throw a small wedding of about 150 people or even less... but i just cant find anywhere here in VA. If you can would you be able to help me if not its okay. I live in Woodbridge VA i can probably have it 50 miles away from home if i have to go that far.....!! I thank you for any concern or advice that you may have in guiding me to. Thanks
Hi david, wanted to know how i can register to be on your show. My wedding is march 6, 2010. I live in Kansas city,Ks wyandotte county.
Hello David, I have been with my fiance' for 6 years now and I need the perfect day to celebrate our union. I have one child with him and he is the only one that works and I am worried about a good budget that will still produce a beautiful day. Could you give me some pointers or some serious help.
Hello David,
No need to tell you how much I love your show, since my dream is to become a wedding planner like yourself (no one can be like you).I coul'd go on forever.......... My question to you is that I'm helping my BFF planing her 25th wedding anniverssary and we don't want the tradditionnal siver thing...that said, I introduce to her the idea of a ice blue and diamond or cristal theme, but she's affraid it could be to blah. Any idea on how to coordonate the colors for flowers, napkins and ligths will be greatly appreciative because we also have a very small budget of $4,000 for 100 guests or any other suggestions.
Thanks so much for your valuable time and also the great educational work that you are doing for all of us. We are know very educated on how to plan a wedding fromm A to Z.
Hello, I just started planning my April 2010 wedding. I thought I knew what my colors were until I started watching your show. I know I want blue incorprated, and a night wedding.
After watching, I want to incorporate Spring, a night wedding and the lounge effect. I'm stuck on colors. I really liked the Ortiz wedding on "My Fair Wedding". How do you do the lighting so the whole room looks blue?
Oh yeah and I'm thinking purple flowers?
I feel my thoughts are all over the place. Any suggestions?
David,
I am a balloon artist, but I would like to step it up a little. I would really really like to attend this Event Decorating Academy, http://www.eventdecoratingacademy.com
but due to the cost I am forced to find something closer to home NYC. Can you recommend an event decorating course that covers the same material that this one does in NYC or some where closer then WI. I did some research but didn't find anything.
ps. I LOVE YOUR WORK!
Thanks,

I love your show. Bayyina and Dawn's wedding was my favorite. YOU DID AN AMAZING JOB!!! She was so gracious, open, and stock to her Marie Antoinete's theme but you made it AMAZING...
I would like to know if you do Wedding Anniversaries. I will be celebrating my 25th Wedding Anniversary in June 2010... I would love for you to be the planner. I want to be a part of it because when I got married my mother planned everything...
I know it is a long way away but it would be a dream and honor if you can do it. My husband just retired from the US Army after 21 1/2 years and this would be a celebration of all that we've been through the last 25 years... It would be a great honor for me and my family... Thank you so much!!!

GOOD DAY DAVID!
Hi, my name is Monica and I live in Texas; and David, I just adore your show, I get teary-eyed every single time you surprise the bride and groom with your finishing touches!!
Congrats on all of your accomplishments, you truly have a wonderful gift. :D
I also just want to say, I am not going to be married anytime soon, I am taking my time in life, dating a wonderful man that I adore, (i am only 22) and probably will not be thinking about marriage for another....oh 7 years. Hehe. But if you hear from me in about 7 years do not be surprised. I might track you down, just to ask a simple question.. will you help, or give any suggestions for my wedding?
I think weddings mean the world, it means everything between a couple, its a promise, and it should be as special as it could ever be.

Hello David!
You make weddings so beautiful and elegant! I am 26 years old. I recently got engaged on Christmas day. I am so excited about getting married. I have always dreamed to have to most elegant and beautiful wedding,. I want to look like a princess on my big day. Unfortunately my mother passed away about three years ago. We were really close. I need her so bad right now in this process of planning my wedding, but unfortunately she is in heaven. I have a very small family, only one sister and she lives 5 hours away. I am wondering how to enter to be on your show. I am in desperate need of a wedding planner because I really do not even know where to begin in planning my wedding. We don't have a whole lot of money. I have a bachelor's degree and I am a social worker, I help find foster children foster homes to live in while they are unable to live with their biological family. This job is so important and rewarding for me, but it is a very time consuming job. I do not have a lot of time to spend planning my wedding. I only hope and pray that I am able to have to wedding of my dreams, but I need a few tips. Of course I would love to be on your show but I know the odds of that happening are very slim to none. Could you give me your opinion on some colors that are your favorite for an outside wedding? And also, do you know what kind of flowers that I could use that are beautiful but that maybe won't break my budget?? I honestly could use any tips that you have. Again, thank you so much for your show. I can tell that you truly care to make your clients wedding day the best day of their lives. That is amazing.
Thanks so much!!

Hi Mr.David, I am getting married on July 4, 2009 and I need to know if it is ok to put red, white, and midnight blue roses with star gazer? because I love the star gazer it looks like fire work has been sit off in it. but I want the colors of my wedding in my flowers. Thank you soon much
Hello David,
My name is Ryann and I am helping my friend plan her wedding. She is only 19 the same age as me and she wants it to be an evening look. Her bridesmaids gowns are black and she wants their bouquets to be all with dark pink flowers and a black ribbon. So basically her theme is black and dark pink. I was thinking of doing the table cloths all black with a pink overlay and black sashes around the chairs. But I'm afraid that maybe were going a little overboard with the color theme. I was hoping you would have tips on where the colors should be used (such as wall drapery, centerpieces, table and chair covers, lighting, etc.) and where and what other colors we should use to counterbalance the black and pink. She has a very small budget but i want her wedding to still be everything she wants. I hope you can give me ideas. Thanks!
Hi David:
I have been planning my wedding for over a year now. The big day is July 11, 2009. Everything is pretty much in order but I am so uneasy at this point b/c I feel that I have not gotten the advice I needed from my wedding planner. I watch your show almost every night and my fiancee is tired of it :) My colors are champange, apple, and white. Do you think this is a nice combination. My linens are white with red top but what I can't make mind up about is my centerpieces. The feel I;m going for is very elegant like the designs you create for your brides. Could you please give me some direction as far as the centerpieces for the reception and please consider me for you up coming season.
Thanks,
Keshia
Hi David,
I am reading everyone stories about their big day on your site and they all seem wonderful. I just would like to say thanks. I know you are a very busy person with all the things you have going on. I watched your last show Amazing Wedding Locations and Disney Wedding. I had no idea that Disney was so affordable. The look you created was wonderful. I really loved the couture look (that was my favorite). What you brought to Disney was amazing. All the candles, the lighting and the colors everything was perfect. I think if I had known about it I might have went with Disney. I had to set my DVR to record the programs. I just have one question and that is what I should do with my venue. I am not pleased but because I have put some money into this location I have to go with it. I took a look around and the chairs are horrible. I want to change them out but it will coast a lot of money. I don’t want chair covers because everyone has them. So what should I do?
Sincerely,
Desiree20784

HELLO DAVID....THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SHOW. I HAVE A QUESTION.I WAS ASKED TO BE MAID OF HONOR BUT I'M NOT QUITE SURE WHAT I'M SUPPOSE TO BE IN CHARGE OF. WHAT DOES THE BRIDE PAY FOR? WHAT DO I PAY FOR? AND HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO LET HER KNOW WITHOUT HURTING HER FEELINGS & SOUNDING LIKE I'M BEING CHEAP? AFTER THE WEDDING THERE MIGHT ALSO BE AN AFTER PARTY @ A BRIDESMAIDS HOUSE, WHO PAYS FOR THAT? CAN YOU BREAK DOWN WHO PAYS FOR WHAT?
THANK YOU
Hello David............Your show gives me so many ideas and insight. I have been asked to plan a wedding for my uncle and his bride-to-be. This is his first and her second. She wishes to be a "princess" bride. They are getting married this September. The bridal party consists of 20 (including themselves). Her colors are wine and silver. How can I incorporate sophication for the bride and her bridesmaids? I have suggested that her bridal party can different styles of dresses BUT keep the color. The bridesmaid are just not happy. What type of color schemes can I suggest, since it is an Autum wedding?
Thank you for your time.
Hi David,
Just want to tell your that I just love your show!!!
Your weddings are Beautiful!!
I wanted to know if you could help me out. I am getting married Feb, 19 2010. I was watching Jennifer C's wedding and fell in love with the crystal shape flowers that were on the back of the chairs on the white linens. Can you tell me where I can purchase those? My mother is a florist and the room is going to be filled with flowers and I think those would just be perfect in my wedding!
Thanks for help!
