Dogbook is a fun way to share your best friend with the world.
by Beth Bates
There have been so many heart-wrenching stories about
animals in the news lately, I decided to talk about something fun for a change!
Plus, I get to discuss my two favorite things--my dogs and technology.
Dogbook caters specifically to dog lovers in the social media space and is fun to boot.
Profiles include your dog's favorite park, activities, treats, and a little personal information about themselves. Visitors can interactively "pet" your dog, and your pooch will also have his own wall where friends can post messages for him!
For you other pet lovers, there is also Catbook and Rodentbook for your four-legged friends. Plus, a number of Facebook groups exist for other kinds of pets, including I Love My Pet Bird(s), I Heart My Snake, Ferrets Are the Coolest Pets Ever!, Sugar Gliders Rock, Aquarium Fish, and finally, The Green Iguana Society.
Anyone left out can use Pet Profile, a generic application that enables you to set up a profile for any pet. I mean, what self-respecting pot-bellied pig owner wouldn't want a profile for their pet?
My dogs, Katie, Willy, Max and Gorgeous George, have their own Dogbook profiles and have been befriended by my friends and their dogs. They would love to have you as friends as well, so look them up!
