The "I'm Tired Of..." campaign makes charity stylish for everyone

The yellow Lance Armstrong nylon bracelets are everywhere - on celebrities, on businessmen, on the kid next door. Cause bracelets have become all the rage. Showing that you are concerned about a social issue is must. Enter the "I'm Tired Of" campaign.
Creator Dan Hoffman is a marketing consultant and an early adopter of living a sustainable lifestyle. Seeing the popularity of the little yellow nylon bracelets, he and his sister, Carrie Pollare, decided that they wanted to make something high fashion and cause-related for under $10 per unit. He looked to jewelry designer,
Joseph Bortoli, to help make his dream a reality. And with that, the "
I'm Tired Of..." campaign was born.
Dan created a series of bracelets made from eco-friendly tire rubber and large, recycled metal beads. The "tire" in "I'm Tired" represents the tire band. Get it?
Currently the campaign supports ten causes like cancer and global warming, but the cause that caught my eye was animal cruelty which is what lead me to Dan.
Pet-Abuse.com shows 14,515 reported cases of animal cruelty in their database since 2001. And this only represents the cases that have been reported. Animal abuse is a problem and we are the solution.
The "
I'm Tired of Animal Cruelty" campaign not only helps raise awareness but also donates half of each bracelet sale to
Best Friends Animal Society (that's $5 per $10 bracelet). Best Friends is a fantastic organization in Utah that not only advocates for animal rights and helps place homeless animals, but also maintains a sanctuary for any animal that they cannot re-home. The bracelet is a hip, trendy way to show your support for animals while helping out a very deserving organization. I'm anxiously awaiting the delivery of my bracelet as I write.
With a new year and a new president, the buzz word this year is "change". I'm hoping to make a few small changes that will hopefully create a major ripple. By
purchasing a $10 bracelet, you can show that you are tired of animal cruelty. Animal cruelty is a problem. You can be a solution - a small change.
Support animal welfare because we are ALL tired of animal cruelty.
