i am looking for a half-brother of mines who was born 4-29-71 his name is paul vincent. he does not no he has three sisters. we have never met . my dad and his mom had a bitter divorce and things were terrible in where he had difficulty seeing his son. He's deceased and has always looked for Paul and got nowhere. Now i'm searching for my brother, the only one i have and have never met. I need to find him.
I am trying to help my aunt who is 80 yrs. old find her 3 children who were taken from her in 1950 in Warrenton, VA,(Fauquier County). We believe that the children were taken b/c she was not married to their father, he was married to another woman at the time
The 2 younger ones Jessie James Dunsmore (11-18-1946) and Joyce Ann Dunsmore (9-21-1948) were adopted out to the same family, but the oldest one, Iretta Virginia Dunsmore (7-24-1944) was placed with a foster family in Warrenton, Va ( the Carricos'). I found her marriage license in the courthouse it stated that she married Kenneth Gene Taylor of Kentucky on 12/10/1965. After this time I have not been able to trace her any further.
I have been searching for 18 yrs for her children (it was my mother's last dying wish to help her find her children.)

This is so sad, how many people want to meet their birth parents and they can not because some of those birth parents do not even know that they are alive. My real Dad does not know that I was created. I know my real mother does not want to meet me but my real father doesn't know I even exist. It is so unfair for me and my real Dad, I think so. Anyone agree?

Today, the twins (boy & girl) who were born ( 1-19-2006) in St. Joseph Hospital, in Nashua, NH., are 37-months old. The twins, lived in Merrimack, NH, until July of 2007. To this day, we still don't know if the both of you are still in foster care or if you were both adopted. I took lots of pictures of the both of you from the time of birth to 18-months. I have a lock of both of your hair from your first hair cut, at 18 months old. We live in Battle Creek, MI area. Some day,I hope that you will be told about our family. Hi, My name is Tammie Meeks and I will soon be 50 years old. I spent most of my life calling a man my dad when in fact he wasn't my biological father but didn't find that out until 5 years ago. The reason I am posting this is because I have watched your shows and sat there crying because I long to meet my biological father. I don't know much about him because my uncle didn't give me much to go on. he gave me a name and a place where he lived at, at the time i was concieved but thats about it. The name my uncle gave me was Willie Frank sawuta but I think he maybe going ny the name William Frank. I was told that he was Native American and at the time I was concieved he lived in Jacksonvillie Florida. My Mom and Dad who I thought was dad had split up at that time and my mom got with my biological father then and thats when i was concieved. My oldest brother said that at the time that my parents got back together it wasn't long after that I was born so needless to say that confirmed it. Hi Troy, my cousin was born in Palmdale, CA on 3/28/52. Her mother left CA and moved to Alexandria, VA and married a man who wanted to adopt her and he did. Now both parents have passed away and she was wondering about her birth father. Her mother had several sisters who have refused to give her any information. Her mother showed her a picture of her birth father's dad and brother but unfortuneatly only the brother's name. The last name is very common so this presents another problem. The biggest reason she is looking for him is for medical information. She has 3 adult children and 4 grandchildren. Can you please tell me the approximate cost of locating her father, if she should be one of the lucky ones chosen by you? Thank you.

Hi---I do not know if you can help me or not. My Mom was unwed at the time she was pregnant and did not tell my "father". My birth certificate shows my adopted Dad. My original birth record is sealed in Sacramento, CA records. County records have been blacked out like I never exsisted. I have not had the money to see if I can get my records to see if they might show my birth father. My Mom never told anyone who he was. This is my first post and I have yet to read the stories posted here. I will when I am done telling you about mine. I'd like to pass along alot of encouragement.
I've searched long and hard for my mother's brother for more than 15 years. I have done all the tracking from place to place and give up hope until something else comes along that starts the search over again.
I am so thankful that I ran across the show, Troy the Locator, because it sparked my desire to start looking all over again. As I watched I thought geez I have done that and geez I have do that too.
My mother called and asked me to put an ad on Craig's List to help her sell jewelry from her house. I knew nothing more than what I had heard of all the bad scams that goes on there. As I read through the pages there I noticed a spot called "Missed Connections". I actually went into the last place I knew he lived and put up a generic ad seeking information on him. 2 days later I had a hit from a friend of his that worked with him. Within 5 days my long lost uncle called me and wants more than we do to reunite. Wow, we talked forever and talk almost daily now. He was able to indentify everyone and everything in his past as well as my mother's and aunt's from the time they were young.
Next weekend we will reunite. 62 years later, a family is brought back together.
Don't give up hope, it's well worth the time and effort. Thanks Troy, for the inspiration. We all thank you.

My name is Shari And I seriously need your help. I am trying to locate my sisters father. My mother and father divorced when I was like 2 and then my mother met my sisters father, He is/was a truck driver from Texas, And came here in Ny to see her. My gram once told me that they had a small argument and she ended their relationship. He tried for a long time to get her to talk to him but she refused. He went back to Texas, my mother found out she was pregnant like two weeks later but didnt get to reach him because he was always on the road. My mother had my sister then was killed in a fatal car accident 3 months later. My mothers friend June had told him when he came up and heard about the accident and that he has a daughter. he wanted to come looking for her but june told him he is best to let it go, the grama got her. I have tried for a long time but with the limited information I have it is very hard. My sister is now sick with MS and only wants to fill the circle and empty space and meet her father, My sister had a baby in 1990 who died from a genetic disorder, and they believe it could of been in the genes from her dad, She only wants to meet her biological father and not disturb his life, or look for anything but to know the man who gave life to her. I am trying to find a way to contact you and this is the only way that I can see on this web page to use this blog. I hope that you will get this and that you can contact me back. I have been watching your show. My 4 year old son was taken from me wrongfully when he was 10 weeks old by SRS in Barre, Vermont. They gave him to my cousin and her husband to adopt. As far as I am concerned this was kidnapping. This couple has no contact with me aparently by their choice. I tried to appeal the local courts decision to terminate my parental rights and I was never given a hearing. I am writing in from chicago, il i am in search of my grandmothers son who was born in the late 1960's on July 14th at the salvation army womens shelter for unwed mothers. this place is now dhq on pulaski near foster. she was new to this country and did not want him to suffer because she had no place to stay nor clothes to put on his back i am not sure of the father name or where abouts all my grandmother said was that he was tall and fair skinned.

My name is Lisa and I am an Adoption Specialist in NJ. I have dedicated my life to helping children find forever homes while perserving birth family information for the future. I just wanted to offer to all that in NJ a Adoption Registry is kept by the Division (Child Protective Services). The Division is the largest adoption agency in NJ so if you were adopted in NJ there is a good chance they would have information for you. This information is available upon the 18th birthday, sorry parents the child has to contact you. If for some reason you are ill and need medical information then yes a child (adoptive parent) can obtain this information earlier. I hope this information helps, please visit the Division of Youth and Family Services for NJ, not sure if other states have the same service but I would sure hope so.
On another note I would also like to find someone as well as my father was not adopted through the Division and we have been searching for his birth father. My father has been told he is deceased, however, he has half siblings that he has not met. I know this would mean so much to him and I wish to meet my family as well. My grandmother has very limited information she will give in regards to her ex husband and my father has not had the opportunity to see his father. I would also love to see my extended family. If you could help Troy I have some familial history including some identifying information.

I am a 39yr old woman searching for my birth mother or any member of my birth family. I was born on January 29,1969 in Boulder City Nevada. My birth mother was a California resident (possibly from the San Francisco area)in her early 30's at the time of my birth. Toward the end of her pregnancy my birth mother flew from California to Las Vegas and stayed with Norma and Gail Cox of Henderson NV. When the time came for her to give birth Norma drove my birth mother to Boulder City Hospital where she registered into the hospital as Norma Jean Cox. She gave birth to me listing Gail as my father and signed Norma's name to my Birth Certificate. After a few days recovery Gail took my birth mother to the Las Vegas airport where she boarded a plane to California. Leaving me in Las Vegas with Gail and Norma to raise as their own. While in Las Vegas my birth mother spoke of having two other children. A girl-13yrs.old and a boy-10yrs. No one seems to remember my birth mothers name (possible name is Colette Young or Younger) but she was described to me as tall (around 5ft 8in) with light brown hair.I have spent my entire adult life searching. I have had P.I.s tell me that i don't have enough information to do a search. If the information about the two older children is correct then they were old enough to remember their mother being pregnant, leaving to Las Vegas and returning without a baby. I imagine that my birth mother had to explain what happened to the baby from that pregnancy when she returned to California. She might have told people that she gave the baby up for adoption in Las Vegas but because of how the matter was conducted there are NO ADOPTION RECORDS. My birth mother should know my very unique first name, but because Norma had my last name changed when I was a small child. This makes it difficult for my birth mother to find me.

I did just send off the ISRR paperwork, and also, to get a copy of the new birth record as I have all the info on the paperwork, of parents, adoptee info, and adoptive parents info. I cannot think of anything else to do except wait and see if I get a response from either of these two. When I called the shop where the brothers work, the brother I do not know, got on the ph. and said do not call here again or I will get the FBI on you. So, I obviously did not get any-
where with him. He wanted to know if I was trying to break up their family? I would never want to do that! This son is now 39 3/4 yrs. old. He was 1 1/2 yrs. when I last seen him. His father gave him up while I was in another state trying to get the other 4 children before they would get adopted

But I was born on February 27th 1962 in Brooklyn, NY. to a mentally challenged woman who gave me the Birth Name John Joseph Connelly, And here parents tried to raise me and take care of her as well as both of them worked . As for my birth father all I know about him is he was a 29 yr. old moving truck driver that got a mentally challenged 21yr. old pregnant then disappeared. after 5 months my birth grandparents could no longer keep me and take care of my mom so I was put up for adoption in a catholic orphanage called The Angel of Guardian Home in Brooklyn. I have contacted the orphanage they say they can't tell me anything and that i have to register with the NY. State adoption registry and i have done that but the only info they will give me is what i have already told you. I want to know who my birth mother is I have had an empty place inside me ever since I found out i was adopted I would like to find both my birth parents and any siblings I might have.
I would also like some kind of medical history .
Please don't misunderstand me or get me wrong I love, My adopted Mother and Loved my Adopted Father ( He passed away in 2001) they gave me the best of everything the world had to give and when my disabilities started showing up tried to get the best care they could for me. But I'm one of the lucky few in this world that get to have 2 sets of parents and 2 familys and i would like to get to know my birth mom.

When my mom was 16 she had a baby girl. She said she was too young for the responsibility so she gave her up fpr adoption. Today I try and find out as much information from her as possible. All I know right now is her name, and where she was born, and for her birthday i just know it is in April. I have been living with my mothers side of my family since as far back as I can remember, My mother has kept me from that part of my life for the longest time. Until just recently, I wasn't sure who was all even alive. You see, the last time I had seen most of them I was two and a half, or so I was told. I'm a month and twelve days from being eightteen, for nearly sixteen years I tried to fill the void in my heart that was my brother, terrance and my grandmother(whom regretably I never knew her name), And mabey just mabey an uncle or grandfather. Also regretably my father, Martin Neil Street, was no help. However, Also, just recently I ran across a profile add on myspace, it was my brother terrance. Now that we have found each other, I am asking desperately to help me find my grandparents and any other family that might be looking for us.

I have had many different frustrations since I agreed to
the adoption.
Thinking it was the best thing as far as giving my precious
baby a better start in life.
I have many times, over the years, regretted my decision.
I wonder about her life and would love the opportunity to
meet her and her family.
I would like to explain to her my life at 16 and the gut-
wrenching decision that has haunted me.
I've tried searching.
I've poured over adoption records and year books from local
schools hoping to see a familiar face.
The searches have consumed me and I seem to be hitting dead
ends.
My prayer has been that if she knows she was adopted that
she would find me on a registry.
My intention is not to upset her life.
I hope only to have peace in the part of my life that has
none and hopefully provide some for her.
The details I have are difficult to track.
The doctor provided the family for a private adoption.
I was told the family was local, only to be told by a local
search coordinator that this doctor was notorious for
arranging adoptions in New York.
I don't know this for a fact.
I've been led to believe out-of-state adoptions were illegal.
I've had some health issues and this causes me to make one
more effort or just accept the fact that I'll never know.
I may be asking for the impossible, but I've prayed to God
for this desire of my heart to be fulfilled.
With His help and my faith, I believe you can help me.

I went on a site & found a match for my birth daughter. (Troys List) I sent a comment to be reached. It has been over a week & we have not heard anything. Yes we are impatient as we lost my Dad last Nov. and it was one of his biggest dreams to see her. We took it as a sign when we seen her info on your site. My Dads' mother is still living. My Dad was 68 when he passed. So I don't get in trouble from Grams, for telling her age, she feels the same as my Dad and all of us. Birth Daughter was born in Alliance,Ohio 2/6/78. She has 3 sisters now & nieces/nephews & birth mother that would love to find her. We was so excited when we seen info on your list that we have been on edge for over a week. Hello Troy or Katie, I blogged on September 17th in search of my sister.. I have registered with Troys List .org. have given them detailed information about my search My sisters name, where she was born, my fathers name, ss#, my fathers first wife name where she was born,where she died and when.. The site keeps coming back to me with not enough information. I have asked them to notify me either by email or to call me with the phone # I gave them and no response. I have my fathers's marriage certifcate, my dads birth & death certifcate, I am in the process of getting dads first wifes birth & death certificate, I went onto the ss death index today and got the ss# for his first wife. I cannot imagine what other info that they need. Accept that my sister was put up for adoption when she was young, 3years old or younger. I gave them the area and street address where my father lived while he was married. My search has been going on for 4 years and I have obtained this information on my own with some help from a friend who does geaneology. I have learned alot in the last 4 years accept for being able to find my sister.I am hopefull that either you or your mom will contact the staff of Troys List, to find out why and what more info they need. I have also asked them to ask for your help with all the info that I have given them if they are unable to locate her and who she was adopted by.My fathers bday is 9/27 and his anniversary of his death will be coming up Oct22. I pray that this will be the year that my sister and I will reunite. Dad and I have been having daily talks lately, I asked him to find a way to bring her into my life. He has been sending me little signs in my search. Today it was me contacting the City Clerks Office in the area where is first wife was born,and finding the birth and death certificate that I had enquired about last week. Also going on to the ss death index site and finding his wifes social security #. . My dad was a kind and gentle man and loved his children, I would not be surprised if he had no idea that his child was put up for adoption, until it was to late.
Please I need your help, There is not a day that goes by that I do not think about finding my sister who I never had the opportunity of knowing. I have great memories to share with her of our father and a picture of her mother when she was 18.

Well Troy....My name is Victoria Cartrette, and for the past 5 or so years, i have had to know that i have a brother that i have never met nor seen.
I do not know much, but i do know that he was put up for adoption by my mother when he was born.
He was born at Roper Hostpital in Charleston, South Carolina. His birthday was 2/25/88, and his adoptive parents beared the last name Smith. It was a strictly closed adopition, so we have not been able to try to find him until recently. It has been very hard because we only know the address of the adoptive parents back in the year of '88, which is Fairview Drive , Keene, New Hampshire. We also know the attorney's office that handleded the case, which is Bill Chrisenathis, but unfortunately.....we dicovered he is now deceased. It has made a major void in my life knowing i have a brother out there somewhere and all i want is for him to know is that he has family....a sister, a brother, and alot of eager people ready to meet him. All i need is some help, so,if it is not too much trouble, please help me. I have done so much to try and find him, and i truely think it was a blessing form God that i saw your show advertise.

I would love to find my best friend Poppy Wallce. The last time I saw her was when I was a teenager. I'm now 34 years old and still call her my best friend. First I want to say how much I love your show. My husband and my mother passed a week apart.It has lefted a big hole in my heart and now my sister 2 yrs. younger than me has lung cancer and is dying. I have been trying to find my husband's brother we lost his phone #. I have been searching for 2 yrs and no luck. I need so bad to talk to him and tell him face to face. I can't seem to get pass this. I need to do this . He needs to know. they wasn't close but once in awaile they would talk. Please help me. This is a cool site. I have been looking for something like this for a long time. I just would like to talk one more time with that precious girl that I so "stupidly" let go of back in North Carolina in 1971. I have missed her ever since the day I had to leave. Her name was Teresa Grimes and I have never found another woman like her in all my days. I wish I had been able to keep her then,but I was young and immature and let another man take her from me. I have never stopped thinking of her. I think that she was the only woman who has ever really truly loved me in my life, and I did not know what real love was, and I lost her because of that. I would like to talk to her again and tell her that I never stopped thinking of her from the day I had to leave North Carolina, just to tell her How sorry I am for that mistake,you know, just to see her one more time. I know that she eventually married someone else, and life goes on, but just once to tell her that I always had an emptiness that I have never been able to fufill after her.I wish that she could read this blog. She would know.I dont know where she went after North Carolina, but I think she kept in touch with my nieces and nephews after that for a while. FREAKING OUT!! Went to the site, clicked up the state and the city I was born in and MY INFORMATION CAME UP saying Adoptee - Reunited. What the ??? I have NEVER been to this site before yet there was my information - how is this possible? I tried to click on Inquiry and couldn't get anywhere. I am not only still ACTIVELY SEARCHING for my birth parents or any family out there but am also SEARCHING for MY DAUGHTER that I was made to give up by my adoptive parents. How is this site supposed to work?
This looks like a great registry Troy. I could have used this when I was searching, but to anyone still searching or just beginning, be sure to post on ALL legit sites that you can find. The more info you put out there the better your chances. Do however, as Troy as warned, be careful not to post too much personal info! I was able to locate my husbands birthfamily through TxCare.org with the help of some wonderful "search angels!" Another good one to use is AdoptionRegistry.US as it to is free and open to anyone touched by adoption who is over the age of 18. They also have registrations for all states and other countries as well. I wish you all the blessings and luck that my husband and I have been blessed with!
I registered on the Troyslist.org and think I may have found my birth-mother, the only problem is that I can't use the inquiry button - it always seems to be unavailable. If the person I have located is her, I would love to get to know her.

Hi Troy, I blogged last night. I went to the website that you posted,. I did find an adoption that corresponded with the time line that my father took military leave. It was the adoptee who was searching. My father went to shore 2/28/47 in Chelsea Ma, the only birth that I found in that month in all counties of Ma was in Chelsea Ma,2/7/1947, it also gave the adoption agency which I was unable to locate, probably the agency has gone out of business over the years. I tried to click on the submit button with my email address but it said no info available at this time. I went to the Ma archives today but it only goes as far as 1910, so I contacted them and was told that I would personally have to go to the archives in Boston to do my research. This is not possible at this time due to living in Az. I am trying hard not to run out of hope as I want to find peace in my life, and to find the sister I have always longed to know. You are my last hope in locating her. As I stated last night in my blog, I have my fathers military records, his marriage certificate to his first wife, etc.Thanks again for all you do for people in there searches. Hoping to hear from you or your staff with any other avenues for me to pursue.

Hi Troy, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for this new search engine. I think I may have found my sister from my dad first marriage. I wrote you an email a few days ago with some info. I used this new search engine and went back and looked at my fathers navy records and when he took leave. This person that is searching was born on 2/7/1947 and he began leave 2/28/47. My dad and his first wife were married 5/16/1947. The town she was born in Chelsea Massachusetts is the same town where my father went into port. The information that I found says it is the adoptee who wants to reunite. I tried to send my eamil address to the sight but it said the info was not available at this time.. My dads BD is coming soon 9/27th, he passed away in Oct. 1983 at the age of 60. I miss him and think of him and my sister everyday. Hope this will be the right search and we will both find who we have been looking for. I love your program and have watched both episodes , it makes me sad and I do cry, but I do believe in miracles and I hope this will be the miracle that I have been looking for. I need peace in my life!!!! I am hopefull that either you or your mom will get in touch with me through my email contact. You are an angel to every person who is looking for a loved one. I would like to start off saying how much comfort your show has brought me despite myself suffering my whole life from not knowing who my father is. I watch your show and feel hope that no matter how much older I get there is always a chance to get answers. I love your idea of the registry, however I have been unable to register...can you tell me what I could do? My story is like so many others of not knowing and feeling a void every second that I take a breath. Thank you for allowing all of us to share in each others joy and sadness.
