troy_blog-pic-USE-152x130.jpgLet me start by giving "props" to mom and my wife, Jennifer. They are the ones who ultimately talked me into taking this case as our Angel Case of the week. It is an understatement to say that I was not "feeling" this one at first.

First of all, this case is a friend seeking a friend... not exactly as compelling as family seeking family (or so I thought). Add to it the fact that the two women involved were runaway teens, got into lots of trouble on their runaway journeys and ended up with juvenile criminal records. (Not sure if that actually stuck on their records.) NONE of those facts caused me to want to go out and work my butt off trying to make a miracle happen for these two old friends.

But what I uncovered during the journey causes a real mind shift for me. As you watch this episode, I think you'll see the exact second when my heart said "take this case."

Jennifer sternly lectured me about my misunderstanding of the close bond two women can form that transcends mere friendship--it is more of a sisterhood. Jen, you were absolutely right. These two women have a connection that seemed to tie them together in that same way you hear twins separated at birth describe. They can feel each others pain even when they aren't together, they sense when the other one really needs them, and they simply have a bond that, even after decades of separation... has never been broken. I suspect many of you reading this probably have that same sort of extraordinary relationship with a close friend. I'm not sure if we "guys" ever let ourselves develop that sort of friendship with another guy. Maybe this is yet another lesson we can learn from the women in our lives! Mom and Jen certainly brought it to my attention, as you will see!

Changing subjects for a moment, let me announce some things we are adding to the Website here at WEtv.com, per your request. (By the way, this should prove that I and "Team Troy" are reading each and every one of the thousands of postings we get here and at my Website--TroyTheLocator.com.)

TWITTER!
First of all, I am going to start "Twittering" this week! Not sure what that entails, but since so many of you asked me to, I'm going to give it a shot. (Wish me luck!) CHECK OUT THE SITE - twitter.com/TheLocator.

MEET JEN!
The questions flowing into my Website about my wife and personal life are mostly questions that I think Jennifer should answer, so I have convinced her to do a video blog exclusively for the WEtv.com readers! She agreed to do it under one condition--I could not have ANY input on what she blogs about and I could not be in the room when she shoots her video. She said, "As long as it's just between me and the girls, I'll do it. Sooooo... I have no idea what you and she will talk about, but you'll love her. Being married to "The Locator" and raising seven children must be a challenge (I could never do it, which is why I call her my hero). Feel free to direct any questions you want to Jen and she'll try and answer them in her video blog.

Well, I am in NYC getting ready to shoot an appearance on "The View," so I need to run. Catch "The View" this Friday to see how it goes! And I look forward to reading your comments after this week's episode of The Locator!

Blog ya later friends,
Troy

I would like to tell all of you that are on the show or that work behind the scenes Thank You.Your show really touch's me. Deep in my Heart. My wife and I adopted a baby girl from the day she was born. Her birth mother handed her over to my wife 14 years ago. What a day that was for everyone. I would not change a thing either. What you are doing is very touching and all important. I hope you can continue to reunite people for many years to come and when you can not I pray that someone will continue your work for you.I'm unemployed right now and money is tight for us but as soon as things get going back to normal I would like to contribute money to you for the work to continue. God Bless all of you and THANK YOU!!!

I was very touched by the reunion of friends as I have experienced the same type of reunion with friends from my childhood. We now try to get together as a group once a month and stay in touch via email.
I had recorded the show on my DV-R though and the ending was cut off. I came to this site to try to find the follow up to see how things worked out, and there are no follow up stories on any of the folks you have reunited, at least not that I can find. I really want to know how it turned out. Any chance of adding a feature like this to the website?

Great show! Congratulations. I saw the show about the two runaway friends. I am an artist and loved the paintings done by one of the women. Can you tell me how to see more of her work? Thanks. By the way, you look terrific, Troy. I remember seeing you on Oprah's show and I think you have lost quite a bit of weight! Am I right? Good for you!

Greetings to YOU and YOUR "fam" Troy!

I've not had a chance to stop by yet and personally thank you for taking the time to stop by my blog to say "hello"! I was quite amazed at the personal response to my raving about your new show, THE LOCATOR!!!

Having experienced a reunion with my own birth mother has given me a VERY deep desire to help others in locating a lost loved one and I have, personally, had the opportunity to reunite a woman here in my community with her birth mother, which in turn led to her meeting three siblings she had never known! Aside from giving birth to my own six children, I can't think of much else that has given me as much pleasure and has been quite as rewarding as lending a helping hand in reuniting lost loved ones! I can ONLY imagine how YOU must feel EVERDAY of your life!!! That goes for Katie and Jennifer as well!

After being located by my baby sister via the Internet in 1997, meeting my own birth mother, having a HUGE family reunion, I was also able to locate my mother's baby sister whom she had not seen for equally as long as me - 40+ years!

My fiance' and I both are BIG "Locator" fans and we WEEP (tears of JOY of course!) through every show we are able to view and are HAPPY to see extra showings throughout the day so that we are bound to catch one of them for sure! Robert looks over at me each time we view and insists that WE-tv should be renamed WEEP-tv!!! LOL!

I am DEEPLY involved in memory preservation within the DIGITAL SCRAPBOOKING community, which I refer to as SCRAPLAND (he, he) and I shall be adding links on my blog to yours as I wish to help promote your show, which is DEFINITELY at the TOP of my television viewing list!!! I don't watch much and the VERY first time I ever saw a preview of "THE LOCATOR" premiering September 6th, I KNEW immediately that I would become an INSTANT fan!!!

I am LOVING "TEAM TROY" and I think it ABSOLUTELY wonderful that your mom and your wife are right there with you on this! How much better can it get than that!!! *big smile*

You GO Troy!!! KUDOS to you and ALL involved and I look forward to viewing EACH week and while some may not think non-family searches make quite the impact on us as family searches do, I have known several people in my years that have had CLOSER relationships outside of family.

I shall be looking forward to viewing a second showing of this reunion between friends as we were away meeting one our grandsons for the first time and my fiance' was in Heaven seeing his three older sons and their sons together for the FIRST time! Yes, MORE weeping!

Have a FABULOUS week ahead and HAPPY LOCATING,
Linda
