Am I the only one here old enough to remember that 80's show, "My Two Dads"? I don't remember much about that show, but the title of it did come to my mind as I worked on this case.
Occasionally, I have adoptive parents express a bit of worry about their future relationship with their adult-adoptee if there is a search and reunion. (I assure them history has proven their fears are unfounded.) But this case brought me an experience I don't recall ever having before - a dad, telling me he wants to assist his daughter in bringing her bio dad into her life.
It's not the first time adoptive parents have supported an adoptee in their desire to seek bio family. But this was different on a deeper level. This adoptive father loves his daughter sooo much and is so proud of her, he wants her bio father to experience the joy a great daughter can bring to life. His sincerity and his love for his 'little girl' touched me and made me really want this case to be our Angel Case.
After a challenging search, we did track him down, but what we found was surprising... he didn't know she even existed! In fact, there ws no evidence she was really even his daughter! Did we find the wrong man? Did her mother give false information about who the bio father really is? Should we do a DNA test? And what if he turns out to be the father, what will his wife and other adult children say? There is a lot to consider when taking cases. This is an episode every daddy-daughter should be sure to watch. I know me and my two little princesses will be watching together. (I know how it ends, but they don't, hehe)
WARNING- LOCATOR FAKERS
It has been brought to my attention by many viewers, there are several unethical companies trying to exploit the Locator show and the innocence of those in search by posting "confusing" ads all over the internet. When you go to Google and search the phrase "Troy Dunn" or "Troy The Locator" you will see the companies I am talking about. I won't print their names here (yet) but look at their names and then warn everyone you come across that they are to be avoided at all costs! They have tricked many people into paying them money and some of them have even led people to believe they are 'affiliated' with me and the show. Any ad that has ANY website other than TroyTheLocator.com or WEtv.com is not to be trusted. Please warn others to stay away from all Google ads which appear when searching my name or the name of the show. There is even one website where they blog about The Locator show as if they are big fans of the show, but they are actually just trying to trick the search engines into sending people who are seeking me or the show, over to their website.
It's so sad to see people trying to prey on the desperation of those searching for family. Please beware of fakers.
On a more exciting note, we have a fun announcement coming next week, so be sure to watch my tweets this week! www.twitter.com/thelocator.
Have a blessed week and tune in for the season finale Saturday night!!
