Her Two Dads

Troy DunnAm I the only one here old enough to remember that 80's show, "My Two Dads"? I don't remember much about that show, but the title of it did come to my mind as I worked on this case.

Occasionally, I have adoptive parents express a bit of worry about their future relationship with their adult-adoptee if there is a search and reunion. (I assure them history has proven their fears are unfounded.) But this case brought me an experience I don't recall ever having before - a dad, telling me he wants to assist his daughter in bringing her bio dad into her life.

Another No-Show Mom?

Shelly and Troy DunnIf you have been watching The Locator since the start, you saw an episode where a young woman named Wendy asked me to find the mother who walked out on her when she was a young girl. As hard as I tried, I could not coax her mother to come out of the shadows and I was left to merely reading Wendy a letter from her mom. It tore my heart out and was, hands down, the hardest moment of the entire 3 seasons of The Locator so far, for me.

The episode you will see this weekend is incredibly similar in many ways; a daughter seeking the mother who left her behind as a young girl and my frantic search to find her, which was a challenge because I was working with information she recollected from her childhood! Limited by the memories of an 8 year old girl, I set out to crack this case with the deep-rooted personal need to solve it and bring this mother to her daughter. What a challenging case and what an end to this episode.... please gather your family and take the journey with me!

Abuse Doesn't Have to Break You

Troy DunnThis Saturdays episode of The Locator provided me more personal growth than possibly any other one this season. The story is about two siblings who were violently abused as small children, taken away from their home and raised apart from one another. They were 4 and 2. It has been almost 18 years and Vyanna and Addison are now 21 and 22... the two youngest people we have reunited on the show to date!

When Emotional Scars Lead to Physical Scars

AndreaWhen I go out to meet families prior to selecting the new Angel Case, I am looking for a reason to take a case. I'm looking for some sort of 'sign' that this is the most important case today. When I met Andrea, I knew, even before she spoke her first words to me, this was my case.

The Reunion That Wasn't, Then Was

Troy DunnThe episode this week is one of my favorites this season! This particular Angel case caught my eye (while I was reading thru thousands of emails) because it began as a plea from a young woman who wanted to help her Aunt Donna find the daughter she relinquished. I love when people reach out to help others! I'm a big believer in the 'pay it forward' concept. (I prefer to call it a 'pray it forward', LOL).

NFL Episode and FREE Locator Stuff

Troy DunnOkay Locator friends, this is the week to be SURE your husbands, brothers, dads and sons watch The Locator! This week, we've got FOOTBALL! :-)

I received an e-mail from NFL star Paul Spicer asking for my help. I went out to his home and met he and his amazing wife. For those who may not follow NFL football, Paul Spicer is a machine of a man when it comes to on-the-field destruction! He is a giant of a man and strong as a bull! I'm 6'3'' but felt half that size when standing in Paul's presence.

But that all changed as we sat down in his livingroom and he began to open up his heart to me. Paul is the epitome of a gentle giant.

An Unselfish Gift of Love

Katie DunnBy Katie Dunn

Hi Locator Friends and Family, I can hardly believe we've come to the end of Season Two. Thanks for 'riding the wave' with us. If Ever There Was A Gentle Giant

The Locator Troy DunnThis episode is one for "the guys" in your life because it contains men being men...until life comes full circle. At that moment--and you'll know the second it happens--these "men" get an opportunity to let their hearts take center stage as some extraordinary healing occurs. I always say that real men cry, unhappy men don't. See if I'm right as you watch this one unfold.

When Dying Leads To Living

Troy DunnThis week, there are TWO very special episodes of The Locator, which I am especially grateful to share with you. As you may know, cancer lives in our home--our daughter, Josalin, has battled it since she was 7. She is 11 now and kicking its butt. (The Lord has blessed us.) But I am very sensitive to those who live with it and always eager to bring joy to those special people whenever possible.
