The New Honeymoon Classics

These honeymoon spots won't ever go out of style.

Honeymoon hotspots come and go (Acapulco and Niagara Falls come to mind). But there are certain destinations--Hawaii, The Caribbean, The South of France--that never go out of style. These are the honeymoon classics, tried and true. You love them, your parents loved them, your kids will love them.

Still, we've noticed a slight shift in honeymoon itineraries. With our generation's bragging-rights approach to travel, a new breed of classics has arrived: the exotics. While Maui, The Bahamas and St. Tropez remain fabulous retreats for the post-vows set, today's newlyweds are itching to hit these new honeymoon classics.

Bora Bora. Stay at the St. Regis Bora Bora and bring home a black pearl.

South Africa. Stay at Londolozi (in the tree camp), and don't sleep until you've seen a leopard.

Maldives. Stay at Cocoa Island (from the folks behind Parrot Cay), and slip into sea from right from your private over-water terrace.

Fiji. Stay at the Wakaya Club, and stock up on Fijian Tapa, the decorative Masi cloth used for everything from handbags and scarves to furniture textiles and tapestries.

Bali. Stay at one of the Aman resorts, and ship home a gorgeous (and dirt-cheap) teak bed.
