All brides share an obsession with their wedding pictures. Even if you're a self-proclaimed "low-key bride," we bet you'll look at your photos over and over and over in the months following your wedding. There's also a good chance that you'll be dying to show them to everyone you know.
Your closest friends and family will indulge you by oohing and ahhing over the prints in your brag book, and may even work their way through your formal album. But for the most part, you'll be sharing your pictures over the Internet.
If you own a digital point-and-shoot, you're probably familiar with one of the free, unlimited-uploads sites like Kodakgallery.com, snapfish, com or shutterfly.com. These sites make it easy to upload photos, add captions, and email albums to friends and family, making them a great way to share the random candids your guests caught at the rehearsal dinner and after-party. They also offer endless cheesy-fabulous gift options like picture mugs and playing cards.
On newer sites like Pixamo.com and Google's Picasa Web, free storage is limited; you'll have to pay a small fee to continue adding pictures. But the features are cooler and more hi-tech. Pixamo.com allows you to set up privacy groups so different friends (family, co-workers, etc.) can view different albums and videos, while Picasa Web, lets Mac users upload individual photos and entire albums straight from iPhoto. Albums can be tagged, captioned and mapped, in the typical Google-friendly fashion. For printing high-quality prints (that you want to have framed, say), check out Mpix.com. Prints costs a little more, but it's a better bet for cropping and blowups.
To make things really easy, get yourself an Eye-Fi Share card. It's a memory card that enables you to automatically upload your pictures wirelessly from your camera to your computer or directly to photo-sharing sites like Picasa Web, Kodak Gallery and even Facebook.
