Nothing says "bridal" like a little hair bling -- but there's a fine line between a chic accessory and a Christmas ornament.

Tiaras, for example, should only be worn if the diamonds are real -- and then only on the heads of royalty. Flowers should be fresh, not silk (tip: stephanotis are sweet yet resilient and a less obvious choice than daisies). Overall, the effect should be a detail that finishes your look without taking away from the focal point: your face.

Hair jewels such as clips, barrettes, and combs are always popular, but right now we're loving headbands. Check out the sleek ones by Colette Malouf, in metallic hues, edgy lace-on-silk designs, and sweet, ultra feminine tie-ons like this tuxedo silk headwrap.

We thought we were setting trends this summer by sporting Jennifer Behr's skinny corded headwraps, but then we saw Maggie Gyllenhall in one of her gorgeous feather headbands and Natalie Portman wearing her overlapping crystal twist on Letterman. (Note to indie brides: don't miss Behr's crystal bobby pins).

And finally, for a preppy rehearsal dinner, we can't get enough of Annie Mistak's vintage tiebands (very Blair Waldorf).

Hey Girls, What happened to the beautiful veils that let the bride be a little mysterious. There is nothing prettier than a bride walking down the isle with her veil over her face and the groom waiting for her and after the wedding ceremony raising the veil to his lovely bride. Just to pretty and a little mysterious.
