Bridal Bingo isn't for everyone. If you're planning a shower for a group that won't be amused by Sex Dice or a bonnet fashioned out of ribbons and bows, consider these more relaxed--dare we say, sophisticated--games.

Who Knows the Bride?: Have the bride's mom or best friend create a questionnaire about the guest of honor's history, personal interests and favorites. (Things like: What's her favorite dessert? What was her college major? What sport did she play in high school?) Try to include questions from various stages of her life so that you can be sure all of the guests (childhood friends, college friends, family, work colleagues) will be able to answer at least a few. Give the winner a simple but chic prize, such as a bottle of champagne or a gift certificate for a manicure.

Recipes for Marriage: Prior to the shower, give each guest an index card and ask everyone to write down one tip for a happy marriage. Tie the cards together with a ribbon or place them in an old-fashioned recipe box and give them to the bride as a keepsake. (There's no need for the bride to read them aloud at the shower.)

Newlywed Game: Come up with 10 questions about the first year of marriage (i.e., Who will do the dishes? How often will you see your in-laws? What's the curfew on Boys'/Girls' Night Out?). Before the shower, pose the questions to both the bride and groom (separately, of course). Read the couple's answers while the bride is opening her gifts. Tip: Avoid questions on sensitive issues like sex and money.
