Our favorite scripts, from classic to contemporary.By Tara Mandy and Meredith LevyEditors of
BFFBridal.comFonts can affect the look of your correspondence papers as much as the ink color and card stock. So if you were selective about having, say, chocolate brown lettering and brick-thick paper, why leave the font selection to default? Here are a few things to consider when choosing your script.
For classic invitations, go with a script that is festive, but also has a bit of history to it.
Edwardian Script is one of our favorites, since it's not too frilly to read. For something more city-chic, use a block serif font (serif fonts have little "feet" -- think
New York Times). Our pick: Copperplate.
While the save-the-dates should maintain the overall feel of your wedding, they can be a bit less formal than the invitations. Try a casual script like
Mahogany Script,
French Script or
ITC Clover.
The place cards should be in the same tone as your invitations. For a beautiful effect, consider mixing a clean, letterpress font with hand calligraphy in a script.
Informal thank-you notes (for engagement gifts, etc.) can be completely different from the rest of your suite, especially since you'll most likely need to be sending out a few thank-you notes before you have chosen a typographic style for your wedding papers. A few of our favorite all-purpose fonts are:
Bouffant,
Gil Sans, Sanderson, and
Century Gothic.
The formal thank-you notes that you send for wedding gifts should mirror your wedding invitations. Still, there is room to be creative. So, if you used a formal script, on your invitations, it is best to go with a script for your thank-you cards. Check out
Balmoral,
Citadel, and
Young Baroque for a look that's classic but fresh.

Hello Tima and Sharay,
Go on Ebay for wedding deals!
Last year I was told by my doctor that I have a terminal lung illness and my husband has surprised me by asking me if I want to have a vow renewal ceremony to give us the wedding we could not afford years ago.
I was worried trying to figure out how to come up with the money for it but I went on Ebay and I am finding deals left and right and saved alot of money.
For example: There was an auction for a $1200.00 wedding gown that I won the auction and only paid $300 for the gown.
Tima my wedding colors are the same as yours minus the silver. Go to paperworksbyedith.com and this lady is amazing and reasonable. She can create handmade invtiations that will take your breath away.
She is doing mine and they are gorgeous. And for 25 invites it is around $60.00. There is another lady I found on Ebay that is doing my flowers from silk flowers and they are very beautiful.
Let me know if this helps.
I am trying to find all kinds of way to stretch a dollar for my wedding.

VERY limited expense account. no idea of where to begin. i don't even have any colors, theme, or anything. i try watching tv and taking some ideas from bits and pieces but the more i watch and the more i try to look around i get more and more confused and frustrated. if anyone can help at all just a little nudge in the right direction would be a humungus help. thanks in advance.

Hey girls. I found this awesome website to help plan your wedding. It's www.weddingwire.com. It's an awesome free service that allows you to search for vendors in your area, create guest lists, seating charts, it also allows you to create different alerts to remember to make payments. It has been very helpful to me and I hope you all enjoy it!
