Some brides are event designers at heart. But most aren't.
In fact most brides, to be brutally honest, need to steal ideas from other
brides who are event designers at heart.
To put it more gently, there are lots of you out there
looking for inspiration. To that end, here are some of the best idea generators
on the Web.
The obvious place to start is browsing the hundreds of
bridal blogs featuring inspiration boards. Among the best are Snippet & Ink, Style Me Pretty and Polkadot Bride.
Other bridal blogs such as Brooklyn Bride and The Bride's Guide shy away
from the inspiration board format, but are still full of well-edited ideas and
cool finds.
There's also Wedding
Bee (a hive of real brides posting about every detail of their weddings)
and Wishpot, which
gathers wish lists from experts in the wedding industry.
But often, the best ideas come from sources that aren't
targeting the engaged set. Check out Hostess
with the Mostess for tips on entertaining stylishly; Oh Joy! for chic décor and correspondence
ideas; Etsy for arts-and-craftsy finds; and Rebecca Thuss for everything in between.
And finally, when you're studying photographers' portfolios,
take the time to look at their "atmosphere" shots. Great photographers like Philippe Cheng and Jamie Watts do an amazing job of
capturing the details and décor--a great source of inspiration.

I can use all the advice I can get. My husband and I have recently decided to renew our vows on our ten year anniversary. Sept 2011.....We got married Sept 14, 2001. Three days after 9-11 and almost all of our guests were unable to attend because of the flight cancellations. So we want to do it right and invite everyone for a big wedding and party. I really do not have any idea of how to plan a wedding at the original it was in a small town so there were not a lot of choices. Now we live in a big city and I am going crazy...I thought that I was starting early enough but a lot of the nice reception place are already booked. So any advice is great.
Thanks
