When it comes to wedding colors, there's a fine line between a coordinated palette and matchy-matchy. The trick is to choose a few ways to prominently show your colors (i.e., the bridesmaids' dresses, the flowers, and the invitations) and keep the rest super subtle.

With that in mind, here are some small but stylish ways to carry your wedding colors through to the details.

  • Instead of matching the groomsmen's boutonnieres or -- eek! -- bowties to your bridesmaids' dresses, use the same fabric to trim the table linens.
  • If you're using an iPod or computer for music, slideshows, etc., have them custom dyed with Colorware.
  • Rather than ordering welcome bags in your wedding colors, use neutral colored bags and affix letterpress nametags with the appropriate font color.
  • Have a cobbler paint the soles of your bridesmaids' shoes -- much more chic than having satin shoes dyed to match.
  • Write your Thank You notes with a pen in the same color ink.
  • Put colored Votive candles in the rest rooms at your reception.

There are a million ways to add a touch of color. Just remember that less is more; if your guests actually notice all the places your colors appear, than you've gone too far!
