Being designated a flower girl is often a little girl's first notion of an honor. And often it's a memory (albeit a fuzzy one) she'll carry with her for a lifetime. While she'll hardly be expecting a gift, it's a tradition to give one, not to mention a wonderful opportunity to show her how happy you are to have her as part of your wedding ceremony. Major book retailers like Amazon and Barnes & Noble sell many Flower Girl titles. They are all sweet and exciting, and make a great gift for a toddler who may need some help understanding her important role.
Any manner of little-girl accessories (mini purses, bracelets, sparkly headbands) are appropriate to give, as are perfume and music boxes. It can also be fun to give a nail grooming kit, along with her first salon appointment for a Big Girl manicure.
Tip: Little girls are usually so excited about their high profile role on the Big Day that a gift may get lost in the shuffle. Consider giving it the day before (along with some encouragement), or the day after, in a special moment of thanks.

My future husband decided for the flower girls and jr bridesmaides we would purchase a special ring for each one, having them engraved with the month and year we got married. Each ring will consist of a heart surrounded in diamonds. The girls are our hearts and souls seeing 1 of the flower girls and 1 of the jr bridesmaides are our daughters and the others are our granddaughters. We both feel they will cheerish the rings for a lifetime.
