By Vané Broussard

When Robert sent me this wedding this last week, I thought it was just so beautifully put together! I've always found that the most simple of decorations make the biggest impact, and its really evident in this homespun loft wedding. It was hard picking only a few pictures, but I hope they give you a sense of the day, and maybe even inspire your own wedding. I asked Adrianne to leave us a with a few words, so I'll let her take over.

Rob and I are very laid back people and we were trying to go for that feel for the day, but without it being too casual. We still wanted a beautiful and classy event! We love laughing and having a good time and wanted to make sure everybody else did as well. We both have great and big families - some of who are really wild and a lot of friends so this wasn't too hard. Food, music, alcohol, and beautiful photography to document it all were most important to us so we devoted most of our budget that way. For everything else, we did a lot of it ourselves. But the sense of community, everyone coming together to help us out was really amazing. I think it was more special that way. It was also important to Rob and I to try and use all local vendors and we are so glad we did - everything was amazing. It was truly a really beautiful day.

Venue: The Westside Loft and Loft 11

Wedding Dress: The Melodia by La Sposa for Pronovias.

Hair and Makeup: My makeup was done by my very talented cousin (and bridesmaid) Kristina. My hair was done by Mikki Kenney of NY Bridal Hair.

Shoes: Shoes were bought at JCrew.

Bridesmaid Dress: Bridesmaids dresses were by Coren Moore. We had two junior bridesmaids in US Angels dresses and two flowergirls who were in JCrew crewcuts dresses.

Veil and hair flower: My veil and hair feather flower were custom made for me by the wonderfully talented veil maker, Margaret Duncan from Bridal Veil Falls in the East Village.

Groom Suit: Rob's suit, shirt, and tie were custom made by a shop called Alan David, in Midtown. Rob had to have something custom made because he is 6'5"! For the groomsmen, we had them all wear either a black or dark grey suit they already owned and then gifted them all green ties that matched the flowers and sashes in the bridesmaids' dresses.

Cinematography: Chris Bernsten. We almost did not get a wedding film made and we are SO happy we changed our minds!! Chris did an amazing job.

Invitations/Paper Goods: We made our save the dates, thank you cards, programs and menus ourselves. My sister and brother-in-law made our awesome place cards for us - They had sky scrapers and love birds in the background! My aunt made picture frame table numbers for us. Our invitations were from the Naturally Ever After line from Invitations By Dawn - they also had birds and chandeliers - so pretty!

Flowers, event design/planning: We did this all ourselves with a lot of help from friends and family!! My mom was the unofficial (and amazing!)wedding planner, my sister was the "gopher", my aunt created and designed so much, and everyone just pitched in where needed and it all worked out somehow. Friends of my parents actually ended up doing all the flowers and set-up for us. We were so lucky to have them and they did an absolutely amazing job - no one could believe they aren't actual event designers by profession. They just really enjoy doing this stuff and it totally showed through. We were happy to have them step up in the last few months because we had a large wedding - about 240 guests - and it would have been too much to pull off all ourselves.

Cake: My uncle made our gorgeous cake! The whole thing was covered in a chocolate shell - Mmmmm. The cake topper were Ann Wood's sweetheart birds. Our invitations had a bird on them and we used lots of birdcages and branches to decorate with so it all tied in together.

Music: For the cocktail hour we had Shogo Kubo play the Spanish Guitar. For the ceremony, dinner and dancing the very talented Moe Choi aka DJ Choimatic spun all the music.

Catering: Venetia Mayhew of Harry's Off-site catering

Officiant: Jesse Hendrich - he wrote us a personalized and amazing ceremony, that everyone (including us) really loved. The microphone and speakers somehow weren't working when we went to start the ceremony and he handled it so well. He walked down the middle of the aisle so that everyone could hear him and it was just so special. It ended up involving everyone more that way.

Thank you for sharing this story, it must have been a beautiful day, and I'm so pleased a very important member of the family was included in the photographs - their dog!

I think the Spanish Guitarist must have sounded amazing at the cocktail hour, I play the classical guitar myself and so know how romantic a sound, not to mention classy and soothing this will have sounded! Fantastic and thank you again for sharing!
