Jamie from {JAC} Photography sent me this outdoor wedding the other day
and I had to share with all of you brides out there...the details that
went with their backyard bird theme were perfection, especially the
birds nests at each place setting. Jamie gives some more details from
the day, so I'll let him take it away.
This couple lives in the city but has a cabin in Patterson, NY. They held the ceremony and reception on their property.
The
bride is originally from Germany, the groom from Georgia. Their welcome
gift baskets included chocolates from Germany, and Georgia pecans,
pralines and peaches! Their honeymoon destination was Fiji- they included Fiji water bottles as well! At their reception, they had a
swing band perform, they also included their CD in the baskets.
The
day before the wedding and the morning of, it POURED rain. The bride
walked outside to the ceremony site with an umbrella, and JUST as she
got to the ceremony tent, the sun shined through. It was amazing!
Their
theme was a backyard bird theme. They had bird's nests at each table
setting, bird's stamped on their welcome basket and birds on their
paper goods. The couple chose to take some of their photos near the
groom's tractor- he spends a lot of time driving through their property
with it! We thought it looked pretty cool!
For
the ceremony, an acoustic duo performed. The reception site was muddy
from the earlier rain, but it didn't stop the guests from dancing and
posing for our 'Mud Photo Booth'! In lieu of gifts, the couple chose to
make a donation from every guest to a charity named Robin Hood, a
charity dedicated to fighting poverty in NYC. The Polaroid photos are
a gift from us, I pre-make the folio and we take photos from a medium
format camera, we like the idea of our couples having something to take
with them on their honeymoon!
Wonderful idea - including the CD in the baskets! Fantastic memory of the day.
