My favorite part of my wedding day was walking down the isle and seeing my soon to be husband for the first time in over 24 hours. I began planning my wedding in the middle of May 2008 and the final detail was finally taken care of 2 days before the wedding. So, it took about 6 months to plan. The one thing I could have changed about the wedding was that I wouldn’t have hired a wedding coordinator. I wanted certain details of the wedding to be done my way and a coordinator always has ideas of her own. Some of those ideas tended to clash with mine. We did not take a honeymoon because I am in school full-time with my last semester and could not take any time off. But we do want to go to Jamaica very soon for our honeymoon to enjoy the sun and atmosphere. Our first year of marriage has had its ups and downs. We have had a lot of differences of opinions on various topics. But through it all we both know that the love we share is real and we want to hold on to it because we went through a lot just to get to the wedding and nothing is going to break us up now. We are expecting a little girl in October. We are both very excited. She will be my husband’s first child and he is like a “kid at Christmas” during this pregnancy and preparing for the baby. My husband and I enjoyed the Bridezillas experience so much. He is so glad it is over and life is back to normal, or shall I say I am back to normal…haha. My husband calls me “wifezilla” now so I don’t think the getting back to normal will ever happen. I wish I would have been more forceful in what I wanted for the wedding. As for now we are both just looking forward to a long, happy marriage with a couple more kids in the future. |
