Dawn Porter, single but searching, travels to the former Soviet Union to explore and expose the mail order bride industry where men and women try to find love in a week. She joins a so-called romance tour in which western men pay thousands to hunt for potential wives. She also attends a class designed to teach Russian women how to please and hold on to western men. The men and women reveal their hopes and fears and Dawn uncovers their secrets. All is not as it appears to be, Dawn discovers, as she learns more and more about the men, the women, and an industry that profits from their dreams and fantasies.
