Bridezillas that aren't bridezillas!
I love the show "Bridezillas" and I watch it regularly. However, the
narration offends and upsets me. Many of the brides are victims of
irresponsible vendors (ie. the girl who's florist flaked and the girl
who's caterer canceled last minute), while many girls are surrounded by
unhelpful and irresponsible friends or family. Some of the girls ARE
Bridezillas (ie. the ones who tells their bridesmaids they are fat).
Planning a wedding is so overwhelming and I am just wondering - how is
WE empowering women by mocking and humiiating these brides? The ones
who deserve it humiliate themselves through their behavior-- the
critical voice-over narration is unecessary. My suggestion is to alter
the narration to encourage the viewer to make the call, "Is she a
Bridezilla - you decide." This would make the show more enjoyable, less
stressful AND it would bring in viewers like me who feel compassion for
the stressed-out brides and are thus alienated by the show. I am 28 and
have/will attend 3 weddings during high-season this year. My friends
and I are your target audience - we love the concept of the show but
would be far more interested if the decision about who is a bitchy
bride and who is a neglected victim was up to us.

hello all,
I just have to say after watching this episode for the 3rd time; the most ungrateful, unappreciative bride was kenya from Texas I sure hope she gave an apology to her dear friend Debbie. Lord knows she deserved one. She(meaning Kenya) did not seem to know ANYTHNG about anything and was not willing to take advice, cooperate with the coordinator nor compromise. She didn't even take responsibility for her own dress and I have to say what the H--- kind of dress was that? It looked as if someone took the lining out of a cascett and threw something together and called it a dress. One word TACKY. Debbie tried to infuse some class in the wedding the best she could and from the looks of the decorating of the makeshift nuputial/chapel area she did good Kenya just had some truly ghetto guests and attendees. There I feel better.
i am a faithful viewer of bridezilla, especially since i'm getting ready for a wedding myself. this is to respond to debstar. and i think the narration adds humor to the show. it's called bridezilla so it's supposed to bring out the bitchy in the brides.i do agree that some of the brides are bridezillas in ways that i think that every soon to be bride should be. and sometimes the narration can be a little bit off because in some cases, the wedding party or the family is not supportive enough or they just think about themselves. but i don't think it should be left to us to determine whether or not she's a bridezilla or not. the concept of the show is not to leave it up to us,it's to show the humor and the real situations soon to be brides face before walking down the aisle. but the narration should definately stay the same. it adds to the show whether it's off or not.
