Author of From Nobel to Ride on Mower: A Story about Survival - Is it possible to live a life full of abuse, threats and fear yet still come out whole and sane? Is it possible to be downtrodden for years yet still have compassion for your tormentor? Is it possible to be in financial ruin and refuse to declare yourself bankrupt but work hard to be debt free? Is it possible to turn an insignificant business into a flourishing one despite no experience? From Nobel Prize to Ride-On Mower shows how wisdom can be gained from such life-altering experiences as these. This is the true story of Gunilla Miranda, a Swedish independent journalist and single mother, who meets and marries the love of her life and moves to Australia. But there is a darker side to her marriage, as if she has wed Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Anyone who has lived with someone suffering from mental illness can identify with this book. They will be encouraged and inspired by the author's willful determination and wisdom. For those who haven't, the authenticity and honesty of this narrative, which is both grueling and inspiring, compels the reader to experience firsthand what it means to be living in fear. After reading this story your outlook will never be quite the same again. ABOUT THE AUTHOR-Gunilla Miranda has written 18 books, including one interview book with the Dalai Lama. She was a journalist for 30 years and now owns a successful business in NSW and VIC, Australia where she continues to live.

This is my first visit to WETV website. I've been reading the posts and it seems quite a few are not happy, wether it be for women not being able to set a table or they were unhappy to see women in a bikini. So what DOES empower you? What would you like to watch?
My self and 2 female cousins have a website,
http://abandonedaustralia.googlepages.com/home and after being featured in a magazine we had over 3 million hits in 4 days, we are not 20 year olds, we range from ages 32, 37 and 46.
I doubt we could set a really fancy table, I don't think you would EVER catch us running around in bikini's. And yet, we have so much interest. It shows that what people do want to see REAL women - not perfect women. Real women with a passion who can go that extra mile. The shows like American/Australian Princess (yes we have that show here too) are a good show to sit back and watch, just like a Mills and Boons book is a good book to sit back and relax with, but they aren't empowering... We are currently developing a tv show and it shows us as we are, not perfect but we will be showing the world what normal women, wives and mothers can do.

I had never watched your network before tonight, and will never watch it again.
Name me ONE network -- Spike, ESPN, etc. -- geared toward men that advertises themselves with men in business suits followed by men in bikinis. NONE. They don't do that, because it would alienate their viewers. But you do, and you alienated me.
I am 41 years old, liberal, and have been known to wear a bikini. But it pisses me off to no end when men's ideal of the perfect woman (make money and provide sex on demand) is used to market to women. We are strong, we are smart, regardless of what we look like naked. SHAME ON YOU! I will never watch your network again. You are a group of sexist men pretending you care about women's issues in search of the almight dollar.

My kids are in 4-H and they are impowering my child.I have a 14 year old girl. She was very shy and would never take up for herself. Now she is learning to stand up for herself without being mean. She is Vice President of the 4-H county council. For the second year in a row.She is President of our club for the second year also. She has learned to talk in public and is growing stronger every year. She now wants to work with other children.Either elementry or special needs kids.So start when they are young and women of the future either at home or at work will be stronger and more confident.

I have been traveling a ton lately, LA to SF, NY etc. Working at home today because I got hurt @ the Oakland airport yesterday. I work hard, have always played in a man's world. I turned on We, the "American Princess" show was on. It is a HUGE embarrassment. I'm about 10 years older than some of the gals on that show, I'm torn between if they are total idiots, or WE picked them out to exploit them. 29 Year olds from Texas that don't know how to set a table?
WE TV is a total joke. I'm sorry to say, this is the problem with women in the US, they think this is empowerment instead of hard work. Shame on WE!! TV. YOU ARE a JOKE! Shame on the avg women for thinking this is inspiration, what about the hard working women around the globe. Total joke!! Will never turn it on again, and make sure my neice, and any of the future generation do either!

I have learned through my work that the greatest gift we can give each other is the gift of encouragement!! I work with many different women, with many different personalities and the one thing we all share is we build each other up!! Women Sharpen Women.... Ladies, lets lift each other up and encourage each other in words and actions!!!
