Becoming a wedding planner

I am getting married in a little over two months!! :-) I'm very excited about it and I have almost everything accomplished! The one thing I'm not sure of is that soon after I get married I'll graduate college, and I'll need a new job. I want to be a wedding planner, but I'm not really sure how to get started in the field. If you are a wedding planner, please let me know how you got started, or if you hired a wedding planner let me know any tips that you really liked about the way he/she handled things!

I'm also studying to become a wedding consultant! There are some amazing online courses but just make sure they are accredited by the Better Business Bureau. Iv'e searched all over the net to try to find out how David Tutera got his start and all I find is that at the age of 19, with the help of his grandfather) he started his business with one client. If any of you know anything else lemme know!

it seems like one way to get an "in" would be to work on an establlished planner's staff for awhile, get some experience in that way before going off and trying it on your own.
