After watching 20/20 on WE I ask 'What has happen to our Judical system?'

Our Judicial system is clearly in the need of reform! With DNA and all the modern equipment you would think an innocent person would have no worries, not when human emotion is involved! This is truer if you are a spouse or a close friend living in a home were someone is injured or killed.
In the case just aired were the husband was accused of murdering his wife because he was in love with another woman. I can't understand how an appeal can be turned down when you hear and see what the Jury did during the deliberation and interview with 20/20? Aren't they supposed to weigh the evidence as presented? The other problem is they interpreted the 911 call to their opinion and not to the facts as presented. I thought it arrogant that they would think that during a emergency situation you would use your partners name and not Honey or Baby etc. I guess they haven't been in a 911 situation, if they had they would know you say what is most comfortable and what you are use to, until asked "what is the victims name?". I am so use to call my wife baby,' Hey baby!'; 'Baby, how was you day?'; that I sometimes forget her name! Then to have them say they had 10 to 20 percent doubt whether he really was guilty after they declared they were unanimous in the fact he was guilty beyond a shadow of doubt; should have caused a judge to declare a mistrial.
This reminds of an issue that burns me! Why is it that to many investigators don't investigate following the evidence, they focus on who they think did it and form the evidence to fit their conclusion. The most popular is, the husband killed his wife, and the wife killed the husband; they find it difficult to believe someone else did the murder, so much so that if someone else did do the murder they will ad ,"yea, but the spouse paid for it!" then set out to prove it! The sad thing is when the prosecutor say a man is guilty the hurt family ignores reality and jump on the band wagon declaring the person guilty! Hey, isn't he presumed innocent until properly gathered evidence proves beyond a shadow of a doubt to 12 peers he is guilty? In the case presented, if the evidence presented in court is what we heard, HOW DID THEY FIND HIM GUILTY?
It is so sad the way our judicial system functions, we are not innocent till proven guilty, we are guilty unless a jury says innocent! The evidence they use is your own words after verbally assaulting you for hours and hours; 14, and 15 hours at a time!(they don't tell you, and most don't understand, you don't have to sit there taking the verbal assaults! Unless they arrest you, then you have the right to a lawyer and you still don't have to answer their questions, that is the lawyers job!) Then call you back for more of the same until you repeat back to them what they want to hear! Yet people still don't understand the concept of false confession! When will this madness stop?

Let me address one other irritation, police abuse of power. I know placing a suspect to the ground is to help prevent them from running or hurting the arresting officer, but it is not always needed! I watched Cops, or Most Shocking, many times after a chase a driver will open his door and as he is stepping out (it is plain and easy to see he is unarmed) then BANG! They body slam him to the ground or against the side of his car! Why, there is absolutely no reason for this brutality, he is willingly surrendering! The longer the chase the harder they throw him! I worked with Developmentally Disabled and Mentally Ill; I was trained in nonviolent intervention, sometimes folks get upset, more times was I able to talk them through the issue rather than physically manipulate them. Why can't cops try this? It didn't matter if they had a weapon, or the had one I didn't know about, I was able to talk them out of the behavior more times than I had to get physical. During the physical confrontation, seldom did anyone get hurt! I understand the police job is tense and stressful, but they still don't need to throw anyone anywhere!
