I love this show but there are only 6 episodes. Does anyone know if they are going to make more episodes?
I have been watching Amazing Wedding Cakes and this is exactly what I've been looking for! Does anyone know where I can find a bakery in the Orlando or Tampa area that can makes cakes of this caliber?
i watched a episode of cake divas where they were making little tinny wedding cakes and one of the guys there got cut rinsed his hands of put a bandaid on and used the same cutter, that is un safe, contaminting , need to wear ppe(personal pertective equipment) that would not have happened if i seen that done to my cake i would not have bought it very un perfessional
After seeing al the shows aired so far my take is this on all 3 companies.
Cake Divas-Sorry but the cakes are really ugly. The Platinum Cake, the Green Cake, the Hollywed Cake, the Elegant Monkeys Cake and the Sandcastle Cake were all uniquely hideous.I mean ugly on a major scale. To say the cakes shown are the quality and style you'd expect in Hollywood is a joke. After watching the cakes being made I could not see ordering or eating a cake from there. Plus the cake delivery is very unsanitary! If the cakes are too big to be boxed then put some kind of wrap on the entire surface of the back seat area of the car it's delivered in.There dust in the air.Someone is sitting there touching the cake. No way is that clean!
Cakegirls- They have beautiful cakes but again the issue is cleanliness.Having the guy who cleans the place jump in to finish a cake? Not a cake intern with the lowly job of maintenance...but a guy who has no interest in cake making.Yet a cake can cost $7,000? For that kind of money call in a pro when you need help! People are touching their bodies and surfaces then touching the cakes.Wear gloves.
The Cake Atelier:-This was the best cake business for the money charged.Beautiful cakes and professional delivery.I read where they disbanded the business before the show hit the air and now both now have individual cake operations.I really loved watching them make gorgeous cakes.Even the Skull Cake was beautiful.
i thought this cake was so neat! i had a birch tree in my yard before i moved, and the cake looks pretty close to the real thing. and all the flowers and mushrooms made the cake even more awesome looking..i'm very impressed!
Both the other bakeries use boxes when they transport the cakes from their store to the venue. But why don't Cake Divas use boxes to move their cakes. It seems like it would make more sense instead of sitting in the back of a car indian style with an unwrapped cake that might sweat or tip over. That makes the cake unsanitary with all these other hands and breaths from other people touching the cake which other people are going to eat.
I enjoy the show and I think it is so amazing how these cakes are made, but I have to tell you, I was appalled at how Mary Maher was wearing gloves and how she continued to move her hair out of her face WITH HER GLOVED HANDS and then used those SAME hands to work with the cake! It is a known fact that hair is one of the most if not the most germy part of our bodies and that is not sanitary at all! One should not have hair loose, hands on the face, ears, about the nose, or hair when preparing food! The cakes "look" absolutely fantastic and amazing, but based on what I saw, I could not ever eat one without wondering how clean they really are.
WOW .... I LOVE THE SHOW
Lauri and her Intern "Ashton"
are fantastic together.
What energy and great karma..........
The Sweet Pea Cake and Sugar Balls were awesome.
Thanks Ashton and Lauri...............
You'll be hearing from me, for my wedding cake..
I'm sorry, but I have no idea how they stay in business. I have never seen such ugly and poorly done cakes. They are so sloppy and messy looking. The level of taste and editing is definately lacking. They stand there and look at the cakes in awe like they are a masterpiece and I just shake my head and wonder what they are thinking. I love when they do a "sculpted cake" and just lump random chunks of cake all over the place. I can't imagine cutting into that cake and having a crumbling mess. They need to watch some of the other people on the show and get some tips. They can't honestly look at the work of the other people and think their cakes stack up. Not even close. I just don't get where they are coming from.
