Will it work with my girlfriend?

Okay me and my girlfriend have been dating for a while now. My girlfriends got the personality that she'll do whatever she has to do no matter who it hurts to get what she wants, and I'm the nice guy that cares about everyone else. Although we are complete opposites in this way the relationship is still strong. Although she'll get bitchy from time to time, and I'll also get bitchy but in turn it just ends up i love you in the end. She says a lot of things that hurts me but she doesn't realize it, and i always tell her when shes doing it, sometimes she apologizes sometimes it'll lead into an argument but we always get over it, and we are very open to each other. I'm just wondering from anyone else experience does the personality difference like that even matter? or is this relationship like walking on thin ice
