Deja Vu, anyone!?...

Wow I was transported back into high school. Granted it has only been two years since I have been out (such as Lauren) but still a very real picture into high schoolers lives. Kudos to you (the girls within the show and the show producers)for no watering down. I loved how Lauren and Cappie were so outspoken and real. today people shy away from revealing the reality of who they are bc of ppl's harsh judgement of the books' cover. Cappie and Lauren you are two very distinct, beautiful young women who will go far in life because of your knowledge of who you are. Be proud of who you are, because there is no one else like you who will ever walk the face of this earth.

Re: Deja Vu, anyone!?... I've been out of high school 15 years and I can't really say that what I've seen on the show is not terribly "different" or "ground-breaking" from my high school experience. I was under the impression that these young women were documented in school as well as for a time after...like 5 or ten years. I would be interested in something like that, something that shows how they have fared since high school. While it's true no one else has done something like this, I think people are misleading themselves if they think this is something new. High school doesn't look much different now than it did then.

Re: Deja Vu, anyone!?... You all are right because I'm just now getting into high school confidential!!! And i love it!!!! I mean they are so right. I use to be just like Cappie when i was in Middle School now I am a freshman and my life could not be better. I also never see my dad. So i guess I relate to Cappie more. WHo do you think u relate more to? But Lauren ws also very brave.

I thought it was really interesting how at the beginning of Cappie's story she told the lady that she was not comfortable talking about something dealing with her dad but by the end of the taping both girls were very open. I think this would be good to use to work with high school girls on opening up and understanding that their lives change and to never give up.
