Keeping Up With the Steins
Has anyone else seen this movie? I think all parents should be forced to watch it. (Spoiler alert if you haven't seen it) It takes place in LA and planning this kids bar mitzvah. First off, it clearly shows what we all know already the party is for the parents to show off, not for the kid. Second, the kid doesn't even know what it's all about. When his hippie grandfather comes into the picture and works with the rabbi to explain it to him, he then doesn't want the over the top party and amazingly his parents listen. Chances of that happening in real life are slim but maybe it would make these parents think for two seconds.
