Cults
I am very upset with your lack of knowledge when it comes to finding out the facts about "Cults". IF you took the time to actully do research you might find out ALOT about religions, that are apparently cults, for instance "Jehovah Witness,". That stupid Woman that is bad mouthing, this religion, should've checked her facts alittle better before saying anything about "Jehovah Witness". If she cares to know, all the holidays she was talking about that she had to miss, well ALL holidays are PAGAN beliefs, so do the research next time! And talking about how you can't have anything to do with worldly people, not being able to go outside, and not being able to talk to your family if there not in the "Jehovah Witness" religion is aload of horse CRAP!! You are aloud to do all that stuff as long as you do not fallow the way of the world. And ALSO her talking about "Disfellowshiping" you are not ban forever from the Kingdom Hall or family, it is when you are doing something that is agenst gods word, and you keep going agenst god after you have been told by the Elders that this is wrong because it goes agenst god, they tell you that you must show god that you really do love him and want to repent to please him so you must be "DISFELOWSHIPED" to truly understand what you did, this means people in the hall are to be respectfull to you but show you very little interaction, this is a time for you and god, no one else, once you've realized and changed your ways and asked god to forgive you, you go to the elders and tell them you want to repent and turn back to god then they will talk and deside, BUT this is a very long process not just 2-3 days maybe weeks or months (this happenes ONLY if you have been baptized because when you've been baptized that is when you truly give all of yourself to Jehovah god). To someone who has family that are "Jehovah Witness'," this was a very hurtfull thing to me someone that was raised as one and understands alot more about the religion, than someone that is three times my age, aka im 17. So please next time do some research and get the facts right. PLEASE next time do a better job with getting facts, Thanks.
You need the Lord in your heart! Im sorry you have been raised with such a twisted view of religion, but I hope you will some day give Christianity a chance. I dont understand how Jahovahs wittness can call them selves Christians when your beliefs and every day life completly contradicts the Bible! Its certainly not Gods will for 13 yr old girls to sleep with old men or be in a poligamist marrige, just hope you realize the truth before its too late.

First of all SPEAKING no body made you dedicate your life to Jehovah. You were obviously a follower. you talk about having sex with an elder. You were thirteen. you had enough sense not to engage. Even though he was wrong. I hate when people act like they were so helpless at that time. And 50 years old really??? You need to be slapped.
Im glad y'all said something because she was totally tripping. As far as Im concerned Jehovahs wittnesses are the ONLY religion who acknowledges God's Name, Views and Laws. They do not believe in the trinity, which is the belief that Jehovah, Jesus and the holy spirit are one. Whatever that woman was tripping on she should know that you have to make religion your own for a better knowledge. She just wanted to celebrate holidays that was her problem. And furthermore, she acts like they took her to a remote area and seperated her. There are other congregations with children her age if she would've widened out. With a CULT, there is no other places like it that functions in society. They usually have guns and violent entrapments to keep your in. Not only is she responcible for herself but her children as well. Gee I wonder where she turned to for "god".
i only took a little look at what people have to say about jehovah.but i will say this in a way she is rite about it being a colt the founder of jehovah was part of the kkk his name is john i cant remember his last name but i have it writen down when i find it ill write mor later i just wont people to know what thay are following becouse people just go by what their parents follow an dont do eney research for theme selfs
well ...let me help you understand the feelings of one that has experienced this particular drama .... i was 13 when i was finally accepted to be baptized as a jehovah witness after being raised as one from infantcy ...i had been wanting this for some time because of other children my age were doing the same and it seemed like the right thing to do ....and i didnt want to be seen as the "not spiritual" type in the congregation ..another words "peer presure" but not in a malisious way ...just presure to be something you see all around and you want to be accepted ...so all in all it was my own doing ...
so i spent the next several years of my life doing what i thought was to be acceptable ...preaching door to door , going to meetings three times a week at the local kingdom hall of jehovahs witnesses, studying the bible long hours , becoming part of what is called the theocratic ministry school were i went in front of the whole congregation and gave a "talk" or an example of what we would do out preaching ...ten or so minuites on stage ....i was always very shy to do all the above but did it because ...again ..it was the "right" thing to do and god was pleased with me and his "holly spirit" would help me get threw anything ....so i went on like this for several more years ...and finally took the opertunity to become what they call a "pioneer" at the age of 16 ...what this entails is 70 hours a month of preaching door to door ...which i took schooling in for a full 2 week period .... i went forth doing this till worn out and confused by life as most 17 year olds are ...see ..i was like a spring held under a thumb and now looked for a weekness in that thumb to break free!!...i did a horible thing and fooled around with a 50 year old married man...one which was an "elder" in this congregation and one which i looked up to as a father figure...he, knowing how vulnerable i was , very nieve, 17 year old, preyed on my inocence.....i hate myself to this day for it!!!.....but i never thought twice about how my mother should have reacted to this very situation !!!....wow!! i was underaged and a child still and she never said a thing!!..she never faught for me !!...but thats the least of my worries now ...... what i really am trying to get at is that here i was raised in a religion ..not my own will....and told i needed to do things or i would be killed at armogeddon and god would be the one to destroy me and if i died before he distroyed me ..i would not be resurected in to this new earth that was promised to all these other "rightous " jehovah witnesses!!!!!!......all that being said ....after "fooling around ", ...not that im any better for this but ..i did not have sex with him ....., i was told to tell explicet details of what happend whith this man to the other elders of the congregation so they could determine if they were going to bannish me or not !!!
well here it is almost ten years later ...i dont have a mother , and i dont have my other 4 older sibblings that i grew up with ...for they followed in her footsteps ...
i am a grown woman now ..have my own family and have moved on from ...most... of the hurt ....that is the past now ...but one thing i know ..i will never ask my son or daughter to make a life long commitment at 13 years old ....long before they know what kind of man or woman they would want to be with for the rest of there life let alone what religion they will have for the rest of there lives!!
I am not a Christian, but I certainly found the inclusion of the Jehovah Witnesses Organization odd. I think what ProudJW says at the end "Look up the def. of cult" really hits it on the head.
They missed an opportunity to focus on actual dangerous cults. The "Church" of Scientology jumps immediately to mind...
I saw your program last night and to put Jehovah's Witnesses as a cult is wrong. Generally, a cult has one leader that everyone follows - an imperfect man. This is not so for Jehovah's Witnesses, who follow the Bible and Bible principles. Yes, Jehovah's Witnesses are an organization run by imperfect men - but the organization is doing great work - directing people to the Bible and talking about the hope for the future of an everlasting life that is found in the Bible. Secular churches do not talk about such things. Also, Jehovah's Witnesses point to a Kingdom Government - that is found in the Bible (Daniel 2:44) that will wipe away all earthly governments at Jehovah's appointed time. These are just a few of the good things that Jehovah's Witnesses talk about.
The lady (Brenda Lee) you had on your show had an agenda and that was to market and promote her book. I'm sorry that she feels so bitter that she would feel the need to twist words about Jehovah's Witnesses that just are not true.
Jehovah's Witnesses are a very clean organization. I'm not sure of Ms. Lee's situation, whether she was disfellowshipped or not, but I can tell you from experience that the brothers in the organization give a person every chance to turn around if they have done something that goes against Bible principles. I know this first hand.

I am proud to be part of the Jehovah Witnesses Orginization. This episode truly upset me as well. One needs to realize that not all families are perfect, no matter what "religion" denomination you are in. There are still all types of abuse or families shunning one another. Some religions will kill their own family members if they don't believe a certain way! My personal experience as being in the truth, most of my own family members have shunned me! They think I'm the crazy one, but in actuality I am doing the will of my Father, Jehovah. Jehovah Witnesses restored true Christianity today. We used the King James Version and the American Standard Version for many years. What, not only we but others who are scholars in the ancient languages say, is that because the ones who had access to the Bible manuscripts and existing copies of the Bible through the dark ages and middle ages, were men of great power and influence. Such as King James of England. People were not permitted to own or even read a Bible for solo many years. When translations finally began to be made, the powerful men who authorized them, made sure that certain texts were translated to support what they taught, such as John 1:1. A little research will tell people exactly what I have just written. Even with modern translations, the translators are not faithful to the original texts. They also lean toward their own beliefs in the translations when it comes to certain texts. The New World Translation adheres to the original texts, and lets the translation say what the original languages said. If that contradicts other translations or what they believe then so be it. A seeker of truth will want such a translation. As Jehovah's Witnesses, we refuse to compromise the truth for manmade doctrines, and this angers so many people. They don't want to hear the truth, but their version of what they think truth is. How sad! (Read John 4:23,24)
The history is out there. You just have to research for yourself. Constantine who started the Roman Emperor, The Catholic church, was a very bad man. He killed thousands upon thousands of people who did not follow his teachings, which meant he killed true Christians in that time. He also was the one who agreed to throw in the teachings of the Trinity, which is not of God. He and his empire banned people from owning their own bible, they could not even read a bible for themselves. People were in fear of their lives that they started to follow his teachings. He brought many pagan beefs into the Catholic church - so then who was the one who broke away from the Catholic church - Martin Luther who knew the catholic teachings were wrong - he started the Protestant movement. Just so happens, he brought a long some pagan teachings from the catholic church. So from there on, self proclaimed Christians didn't believe certain things the Protestant church was teaching and they broke away, that is how today we have so many denominations. Didn't Jesus Christ only teach ONE GOSPEL? How can all self proclaimed Christians today call themselves Christians when they clearly don't have the same beliefs. There is always some truth to their teachings, but the truth is not all there. Some don't even follow the 10 commandments! I went to a local church where I was taught that it was all about Jesus and that all I had to do was believe in him and have everlasting life or "eternal life" Never once did we open our bibles in church. JW simply restored Christianity that's why today they appear to be heretics. As far as their false prophecies - what people don't realize is that it took them along to read/research the bible that they did make errors. They used to celebrate holidays! Why don't self proclaimed Christian research where the rapture originated and all the pagan holidays that were not of God! Or research the cross and where it originated from. Just because they throw Jesus in the mix - doesn't mean that it's alright with Jehovah God. Yes, I do believe in Jesus a hindered percent. He is my Lord and Savior- I must believe as the bible says so. I truly know how Jesus felt back in the day when everyone thought he was crazy. Just as in the days of Noah- no one took no note and thought he was crazy.
BUT JOHN 4: 23 Nevertheless, the hour is coming, and it is now, when the true worshipers will worship the Father with spirit and truth, for, indeed, the Father is looking for suchlike ones to worship him. Today's times is considered modern day Babylon according to the Book of Revelation. The bible says - Get out of her my people! Babylon that great has made all nations spiritialy drunk with the wrath of her fornication. Babylon the Great will fall as well as all false religion.
I'm sorry for the lady who had a terrible life as a child. It's possible there's more to the story or possible that it’s her own families fault for shunning her. I know a lot of JW who have family members who are not in the truth and are perfectly fine and happy. Kind of seems that this lady who is trying to market her new book she just wrote to make some money. She should know the truth - doesn't mean her child will live a deprived life. The bible says be No part of the world for I am no part of the world. This world is filthy. Jehovah God is testing Satan to prove to him that Jehovah God does have faithful followers and in the end Satan will lose. But Satan is also bringing a lot of people to destruction. From dust we are and dust we will be. The whole world lies in the hand of the wicked one. (1 John 5:19)
