The story, Mail Order Brides, seemed less of a real look at this type of relationship, and more of a marketing or PR piece for the featured couple's company, Foreign Affairs. I know two men who married internationally through similar agencies and these relationships all ended after a short time, once the women had gotten entry into the U.S. One man has had three such brides, all unsuccessful but for their bid to enter the States. One woman even left him with her teenage children and took off! What was more realistic was the glimpse into the meat market that are the meet-and-greet socials arranged for these men who are often much older than the women they seek, rigid in their views of women's roles, or just plain too lazy to really try to meet women here in the U.S. To see the girls dancing wildly to attract the attention of the few men ogling the (always beautiful) women there at the social was sad.

The show featuring two happily married women from Eastern Europe is less a true (or fair) look at this issue than a promo for the company, Foreign Affairs. I know two men who have been through international marriages, with disastrous results. In one instance, the man married multiple times, with each wife divorcing after arriving in the U.S. One of the women left her teenage children with the man - it was obvious she had no intention of staying married, only to get to the U.S. as a legal resident. Many of the men who look outside the U.S. are not marriageable due to age, peculiarities, rigid behavior standards, and other peccadilloes that make them unattractive mates. By exploiting women (usually much, much younger) who will do anything to get out of their home countries, the chances of success is rare. Certainly, no stats were presented, and the success rate cannot be measured by the two happy couples you featured. In one instance an 18 year old married to a 45 year old for (at time of airing) a very short time. Who knows what will happen once this girl actually settles in to life in the U.S. Pure PR and marketing for the featured 'marriage' agency. Just look at the wild dancing by the hopeful women at the arranged social event in the Ukraine - a true meat market. Sad.

I had taped and just watched the episode of Mothers of Murderers. I just want to say how inspirational these women are....a testimony of LOVE. Thank you ladies for sharing your stories and the love you have for your children who are in peril shows what true spiritual beings you are. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I am 37 years old and have been married for 12 years. I have a beautiful little girl who I love with all my heart. I love my husband but I'm just not attracted to him. I'm finding myself more and more feeling attraction toward women. I have never experienced being with a women before but if I ever had the chance and the chemistry was there, I know I would do it. I can't get this off my mind.

Last nights show on husband beaters was probably an eye opener for some and an ah ha moment for others. Society has been led to believe that domestic violence is something that men perpetrate and women suffer for decades. Abused men have been denied services, ridiculed and dismissed as perps pretending to be victims for just as long.
I commend the men who were brave enough to give a face to male victims of domestic violence. The more a social problem is brought to light the better chance we have to correct it. Bravo to Jerry, Dave and Robert for sharing their stories!

I caught the end of this show and I have to say that I am sicked by what I saw. This show glorified these young women and the sick pedophiles that took them as wives. This show was irresponsible and gross and should be boycotted by all. Also, while writing this the next episode of Secret Lives has started. This time the topic is human trafficing, otherwise known as mail order brides Once again, sick, sick, sick. It is great to see men glorified for "rescuing" women from 3rd world countries. Love how these men are looking for women that will worship the ground they walk on for bringing them to America rather than love them for who they are. If I had a daughter I would rather her watch pay per view smut before watching the We channel without proper adult supervision.

Did anyone else notice that this woman is NOT WEARING gloves as he handles a variety of raw meats. That is the grossest part of the show. She could be spreading germs from one batch of beef to the next! That could be your burger.
