hello my husband and I elopped five months ago, and I really regret not having a wedding and now I'm planning for one for next year you know the whole nine but my sister think it's crazy to go all the way since we are already married, but I dont think so what do you think
I think that you should have one, but do not go overboard. I would recommend wearing a simple white or ivory dress instead of going all "princessy" because you are already married. I would also recommend not having a bridal party. I think that bridal parties take away from the bride and groom and you will definitely have less stress.
Crazy?? No Way..what is the diffrence between a reception that happens 1 hour after the wedding and one year? NOTHING that's what! You should have your wedding!!
My husband and i got engaged this past Christmas and planned for a wedding in May of 2009. Well we ended up getting married this past May @ the court office, and we are still having our bigger ceremony and reception in May 2009...totally understand how you feel...some family members tell me the same thing about "waste of money" but we're still doing it....go for it, have your dream wedding =)
You should go for it. They are the best memories to have! Everyone dreams of having a beautiful wedding, don't they? How can your sister think you are crazy? You do what's in your heart! I had a wedding in Kauai and then a reception in San Diego. It was like two weddings. I plan to have a wedding in Kauai every 5 years..... and she thinks you having one is crazy?!
