The New Assistant

| Welcome back to the salon with Ellin, Jeff & Kim, and it's clear that nothing has changed: same old crazy. Employees old and new are introduced as Ellin complains about the crazy start to the typical stressful day. The salon is in desperate need of a new hair assistant. The stylists are being stretched thin and if Ellin doesn't hire someone soon, some stylists are walking. Jeff lines up several new trainees to come in and audition for the part of assistant. Each must do a "demo", where they wash & dry one of the current stylists' hair. Comedy ensues as Tawana, the new stylist, gets her hair washed by the first trial assistant - and Tawana is not pleased. The assistants are honed down to a final two - and these two must pass the ultimate challenge: styling Ellin's hair! Ellin decides to hire not just an assistant, but also a junior stylist (the quirky Shannon). Jeff finds Ellin's decision typically impetuous, and the staff stylists are equally none too pleased. | |
