John and I were driving home from the Cross Country studio one day this season and resumed an ongoing metaphysical dialogue that is eight years in the making. He always drives (with built-in GPS). Amidst the show—tunes blasting and taking cell phone calls—I was trying to pin him down to differentiate tangible and intangible existence, in regard to his clairsentience (feeling things) gift. With a smile, John advised me to start writing down these thoughts, suggesting that while on my own spiritual journey, I might even have a book inside me. I don’t know about the book, but I thought I would share a little bit of commuting with America’s favorite psychic. On this show, after a round of tremendous studio readings, John traveled to Saugus, Mass. to reconnect with a couple that heard from their departed son Danny, in the gallery. At a follow up home visit, Jeff and Frances graciously cooked John and our crew eggplant parmesan that was top notch. Before we all sat down to eat, John showed them a home movie of his own, personifying the importance of celebrating holidays after a key loved one crosses over. It was a very emotional lesson to learn—as you will see on the show. The next story takes us to Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania. Pam, a single mother, recently lost her teenage son, David, to Leukemia. With her parents and daughter helping, Pam is courageous and coping the best she can. Since John’s reading, she is now is ready to celebrate Christmas again. Personally I was rocked by this story. (Twenty five years ago I was set to buy a house in the same surrounding hills. Unbelievably, radon detection in the basement caused the property to fail the home inspection. Just shooting the exteriors up there sent shivers through my spine, and made me count my lucky stars.) The phone reading in this show presents itself in stellar fashion, photographically that is. But the audio, that’s always another story. Whenever we do this long distance phone hook up, something goes haywire. Random radio frequency interference, sound drop out, microphones shorting out, something will go wrong. The only sure thing is John. Somehow the amplification, satellites, and electronic apparatus boost his awareness. Not to take any chances missing the action, we just gave Carol and her daughters Stephanie and Patricia (they were winners of a WEtv online phone contest) in Phoenix, Ariz. their own hand sets instead of a speaker system. Keep in mind that John can’t see them, even though you can. Too bad, because the expressions on their faces (as they receive amazing validations) would have cracked him up. Please keep an eye out for more online opportunities to interact with John and the show. Big thanks to our Co-Executive Producer Nina—she selected this combination of stories to accentuate the Holiday theme. Her individual effort makes this John Edward Cross Country a very special program for anyone challenged to keep family traditions alive, after a loss. Stay tuned, Paul |
