John Edward Cross Country

Four Psychics

Four Psychics
Hi, let me (re)introduce myself. My name is Paul Shavelson. I’ve spent 30 years in television production and have the scars to prove it. For the past three years, I’ve had the pleasure to stand alongside John, being an executive producer and director for John Edward Cross Country on WE tv.

John and the network thought it would be a good idea if I blogged about our production and the entire JECO team’s experience making this show. Your loyal viewing has made it all possible. Thank you for the opportunity.

On this third season’s 6th installment of the show—there are more great psychic readings and a follow up segment at the homes of those John has read. Sometimes, if his schedule allows, John travels to see these people with the crew. As I have previously written, this follow up format is our signature. So just when we think we have solid ground under us, John is adamant that the show must invite three psychic colleagues to the studio to read his audience. Well, so much for a comfort zone.

If you don’t know by now, electronic gear and psychics have a love/hate relationship. (Too much friction in the room, when it’s just John.) What would happen when four psychics are under one roof? John’s commitment to showing the process motivated him to invite Char Margolis, Robert Brown, and Jonathan Louis on the program. Getting to know these and other amazing gifted people has been more than a bonus. Both Jonathan and Char have given me some psychic counseling. Robert, what’s up with that?? Do I have to beg???

There is a certain ego necessary to do their special work, but I don’t find it different than any other profession. Those who stand out stand out, and having a healthy ego is essential. In spite of any darkness in the work, because they are mediums, they all have a great sense of humor. Well, they are super sensitive. Sometimes they think I’m funny, sometimes not. John did not want any of his colleagues to see one another, before the readings. So, we had to choreograph their arrivals and keep them in separate holding rooms to refrain from psychic mingling. Like John, they had no idea who was seated in the gallery. They are winners from a ticket giveaway that hopefully will happen again this December ;)

So, before John met his audience that January day, each of the guest psychics spent about 20 minutes reading the group. Sure enough their separate approaches to mediumship become apparent on the screen. They were all great. The process is further explained at the end of the program when John joins them for a Question and Answer roundtable.

The studio survived, there were no bolts of lightning, but tons of enlightenment. Thanks for watching. Hope you enjoy the program as much as we at JECO PRODUCTIONS have producing it.

Best,
Paul
