John Edward Cross Country

Still With Us

Still With Us
Thanks for checking in, I hope you have enjoyed this season’s JOHN EDWARD CROSS COUNTRY programs so far. If you have, why not call the first three friends who come to mind, and tell them to watch this Saturday night as well. Wouldn’t it be great if they got back to you with all kinds of validations they received by watching?

That’s how it feels to produce this series. I try to get as many people open to receiving John’s messages as possible. I have no intention to debunk any theories on communicating with the other side. I know for me, I accept it and for others it sounds farfetched. Regardless of anyone’s belief, especially cynical TV colleagues, now and then I will get a shout out from somebody who is convinced that a particular episode was meant for them. Just like when a crew member is there to help televise the show and they get messages. It’s the same for a passive viewer, who might be less spiritually aware than you. So why not try to reach out to those who might not really be that open to the process...yet?

At the beginning of this week’s show, 'STILL WITH US,' John makes the "what’s meant to happen, happens" point. He tells the audience that being there for this particular taping is no accident. He compares the readings to eating birthday cake. Even though it is not everyone's birthday, everybody can have a slice of cake. Watching the show or reading this blog is the same. The psychic readings and stories are not your personal readings and stories, but there are profound lessons to be learned. So let's get more people to this week's 'birthday party.'

While shooting this birthday party, we used a few classic and controlled talk show techniques. John’s home base on the stage finally gets a chance to be used. He usually stands in front of the gallery and in rapid fire, starts rattling off connections. Here he asks two sisters, April and Paige, to sit with him in the on-stage living room. The show’s dynamic takes a nice quiet moment to hear that the women have just lost their mom. The session has a different look as well. Because there are no other audience members in the shots, you can see the women in close-ups without distractions. The expressions on their faces tell just how deep John is getting. Also, the body language of all three seated takes a less edgy stance—relaxed and receptive to the messages, a good way to be.

Next, on the road John catches up with daughters and their dad, Jerry, after he sees the videotape of the reading. Again the show takes on an intimate conversation. Again, a conversation anyone of us wish we could be having with John. Jerry’s wish (I won’t give it away) is the same as everyone’s reading this.

Other readings have remarkable moments as well. Taking a psychic driving tour through Staten Island is off the hook—even for John. Sometimes after his mind’s eye takes us somewhere, we send cameras to shoot it. This one got away from us, because there wasn’t a helicopter line item in the budget! Maybe next season, although in another reading in this show, John is busting someone for burying a pet horse in an inappropriate spot...we had to send cameras to see that.

At the end of the show, John connects with a Philadelphia family for a long distance phone reading. This time John is talking to a couple who had won the reading via the WEtv.com sweepstakes. John starts getting names and a lot more. Next season we hope to put winners face to face with John via webcam. Not that would change anything for John and his information, but I think the people at home will like to see John on their computer...in their living rooms.

Thanks again for all you support, remember to call, e-mail, or webcam three friends.

Stay tuned,
Paul
