My name is Sashani and my wonderful new husband’s name is Jason. I am proud to say that I am David Tutera’s Motown Bride.

Have you ever had a dream you thought too far-fetched, impossible or far out of reach? Where despite everyone’s skepticism, you hoped with all your heart something greater than yourself would guide you to it?  That is what happened to me. One night I had a dream that I met David Tutera. I woke up and prayed that it would one day come true.

When Jason and I met in Detroit five years ago, we connected over our similar Hollywood dreams of working in the arts and music. We wanted to have a wedding, but wanted something unique, non-traditional and fun that would bring all our family and friends together from Detroit, LA, and Jamaica.

Motown has a great history of bringing people of all walks of life together during crisis. Black and white, everyone came together to celebrate the music of love. So, I came up with the idea of a Motown-themed, destination wedding in California.

I wrote My Fair Wedding, as I used to tell my family, “One day, David would come knocking. You’ll see.”  I nearly passed out from hyperventilating with excitement when I realized that my prayers had been answered and I got the call from the show.

Everyone is curious about the inclusion of Michael Jackson’s sequined glove in the wedding decor. Well, Michael Jackson’s music and love for people has always inspired me. I am a dancer, and every dancer loves MJ. His music brought joy to everyone, and his glove was the symbol of that. We wanted that same electrifying feeling his music brought to the dance floor to embody our wedding.

Although David didn’t include the glove, its symbolic essence was creatively incorporated in the wedding. For example, there were mirrored tables, and a mirrored platinum dance floor. “Man In The Mirror” anyone? Everything down to the very last detail represented the platinum hit records of pop royalty and Motown. It was spectacular! To give an idea of the detail involved, the several vinyl records that surrounded the cake and guest tables were all authentic Motown records. The “A” side, which was the “Hit” record, had our names custom printed with our very own Motown logo. David also helped me select an important song that set the tone for the ceremony, which was “Speechless,” by Michael Jackson. What is great about David is he listens to your heart. He kept it elegant and in his own words made it BIGGER.

I was so thankful that I was able to share the whole My Fair Wedding experience with our friends and family.  David was so personable and caring with them. Our guests had the time of their lives. They were given the celebrity treatment and I had my dream come true of everyone coming together for our My Fair “Motown” Wedding.

Jason and I are beyond thankful to David and the entire My Fair Wedding team for presenting us with a beautiful, dream wedding experience. The wonderful production crew made filming so much fun. I absolutely adore David Tutera. We had a great connection. I could not stop smiling or laughing when he was around. I was so happy to be there. David has a wonderful, gracious heart. He is a creative genius who has been placed on this earth to help inspire the world dream.  David is the ultimate dream giver and I thank God for blessing me with the honor of having been his Motown Bride.
