• A lot of brides pick a theme and then go overboard trying to incorporate it into every aspect of their wedding. Instead, what you want to do is take that theme and use it in various touches throughout your wedding décor, the dresses, etc. But do it sparingly so that it’s not kitschy and your guests don’t feel overwhelmed by it. • Make sure the "theme" is not childlike—for example, if you want a princess wedding, make sure it represents an adult version, not something you came up with in puberty. Maturity and sophistication lend to a more dramatic and elegant party. • When choosing a wedding gown, be sure to think about your individual body shape. Most brides have some idea of what kind of wedding dress they want but don’t take into account that certain styles may not work for their body type. My advice: try on a number of different styles before purchasing your dress because you can never be sure what will look great on you until you’ve seen it on. Also, when choosing a gown be sure to consider the comfort factor and whether or not it’s practical. A bride can look stunning and be able to sit down at the same time. |
