• With the ease of the Internet, many brides want to buy as much as they can online. But while the Internet can be great for finding ideas and terrific bargains, you can also end up with a mish-mash of decorations...things that may work fine on their own but not with everything else. Don’t trust pictures on a web site. You owe it to yourself to go shopping in person to find out what works and what doesn’t...and to get an overall visual of your wedding. • Also talk about how getting things on the Internet are getting a lot of little pieces of décor which means when you start calculating guests and tables and space, you will need more than you bargained for. Whereas if you invested in some larger pieces, your Internet shopping can be for simple accent pieces. • Timing is very important for any wedding. When your guests arrive, your venue should be up and ready to accommodate them. And with all the activities that go on—cocktails, finding a table, eating, the toasts, the speeches, cutting the cake, the dancing—it's easy to get off track. You want to make sure that each event flows smoothly into the next and that you don’t get bogged down by any one event. |
