Mike and I first met in August 2006 at an event for an animal charity calendar that I photographed. Though we only spoke briefly I knew there was a special connection. About two months later I was at a burlesque show in Philadelphia. As I walked down the stairs—there he was. He began to serenade me. (He denies this occurrence; I figure it's not a macho thing to admit…LOL.) Regardless, I thought it was the sweetest thing ever! We got to talking and continued to converse through a social networking site we both used. And, well, we have been together ever since! We originally planned on getting married in Las Vegas on Halloween 2007, but the plans got postponed to December, then to February, and finally to July 20! The planning was off and on mainly because I kept changing the theme and decorations. I am a tad indecisive and was determined to make my wedding special. My ideas are endless and as the date got closer I started getting more and more nervous because nothing was matching up. I was trying to make everything myself because I am an artist and can create just about anything; at the same time I was worried my big day would look like a craft project wedding! I prefer things to be fabulous, outrageous and unique—but that takes time. Both time and money became the major issues as I was struggling to run a new art gallery and pinup photography studio called Bombshellpinups.net. The budget to throw an extravagant wedding no longer existed. So... what's a girl to do?! I'll tell you what I did. I hyperventilated, had a martini and watched WE tv! David was sent from the heavens above to save my wedding! If it was not for him stepping in (just in time) to pull this wedding off and make it memorable I would have been lost. He listened to me and all of my crazy ideas—like wanting to incorporate "Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend" (I am a Marilyn Monroe impersonator), showgirls, colorful polka dots, spiders, rockabilly, classic standards, cupcakes and candy. YES, I know—it sounds like a martini lounge at a carnival! David helped me realize what was and wasn't appropriate for a fabulous wedding. It was the most amazing wedding ever. A dream come true. Pure magic. David is a genius and I am his biggest fan! |
